I noticed we don't have any pinned threads around here, so I was wondering if the guys that have been around for a long time could share some of their favorite content be it
1.) a topic that was a ground breaking (for you) revelation and changed the way you did things. 2.) a thread that was exceptionally well covered and heatedly debated. 3.) a thread that was over the top funny or is important in Huey lore (I would like to see the origin of the Facemelter)
Normally, I wouldn't ask such a question with nothing to contribute, but I don't feel I'm qualified to answer so...

There are pinned threads.

I wish they would pin one for LB reads and whether or not you should incorporate oly lifts or just do hip thrusters 😀

I love the "Calling Hybrid-t, faster than fly, jetsweep, rocket coaches". Its incredibly detailed, ended up I think about 18 pages worth of material.

There was an I formation/pro offense thread a while back that I really enjoyed. I don't even run it but it was a great thread that went on for over 20 pages of great discussion.

Way back when there were a couple good threads on platooning, brophy being the main proponent.

The "Double Dive Serious Discussion" or whatever it's titled exactly is excellent. The one on why dcohio doesn't post on here anymore was very eye-opening for obviously negative reasons. Don't remember the title of this was on either, but about ten years ago, I posted a list of plays I would run if I was a spread coach and was quickly told by the experts it was entirely too much. That thread really got me to examine my offensive thinking.

On that note I remember when I first became an OC posting my playbook here for help and suggestions and being told to be prepared to not be good at anything because there was too much. Love this site.

The paucity of stickies goes way back to about ten years ago when there were tons of stickies, and then somebody realized that this isn't the nineties anymore, we look ridiculous.
What would be cool is a page that links to the 100 or so most active threads all-time.

What would be cool is a page that links to the 100 or so most active threads all-time. i think it would be fun and interactive if we all took a little chunk of the site and went through it and found "the gold" and nominated to a different category; informative, funny etc. Then we could have the mods seed them and have a poll off to find the "greatest threads of all time." Maybe make it a yearly thing.

Yeah but there are 70,000 threads to go through. That's a pretty mammoth undertaking.

Yeah but there are 70,000 threads to go through. That's a pretty mammoth undertaking. Yeah, but 69,000 of them are "what offense do I run when my kids suck and my coaches can't tell their butthole from their pisshole" Makes the task a little less daunting if you filter those out.

Sure, but how do you filter those without having someone look at them.
I mean if we got serious there are some tricks. Discard anything with less than 5 or 10 replies, that handles maybe half of it. Actually if we assume a log distribution probably we can get rid of a good majority but somebody still has to look through a lot of threads.
It might be funny though to read some decade-old pissing match. And you'd get a good history of how fads evolved.

Has there ever been a thread about playing cover 0 all the time against the double wing?

There most certainly has! Superpower was the goto guy in it.

There was some serious double wing name dropping guru stuff going on if I remember correctly.

The simplified wing-t or whatever that title was. Others have already been mentioned. Dcohio's post/thread about how he came up with the defense he runs.

coachhuey.com/thread/46608/slotThis one is amazing to me because the Slot-T has so little info out there, but so much interest at the same time. If I ever wanted to make a bunch of money coaching, I'd get in with a Slot-T staff and then sell-out bigtime.

Thought not nearly a decade old, I actually had fun digging up the "Last Chance U" thread, because I had completely forgotten what it turned into on pages 3-4!!

I agree.. but I would say the post by DCOhio where he described how he "learned to be a coordinator" is one of the best coaching posts on this site, and should probably be a must read for anyone interested in the process of truly becoming a good coach.
