I have a son due to drop in April. Excited but nervous about the time away. usually the summer has me at the high school every day for weights or passing or qb training. will I be able to keep up this schedule and not feel like I am neglecting my wife?

I think it is the one just north of Atlanta. Heard it was an ole boy from Michigan that got the job.

I think kids want to emulate what they see on TV on Saturdays and Sundays at the high school level. They want to be the next Reggie Bush, or Matt Leinart or Mario manningham, etc.
They don't see full house T and double Wing O on TV. They see texas Tech, and Michigan, and Florida. Spreading it out and getting the ball to skilled players in space.
just a thought.

I always want to take the ball to start the game. Nothing like going down and scoring on your 1st drive to start the game for confidence. Plus you always have the chance for an electrifying kickoff return. It always seems to me , that if we take the ball 1st, we might get 1 more possession than the other team. That adds up.

hey guys , need some help. Going to be interviewing soon for a head coaching job at a good school. Does anyone out there have any materials I could look at to go into an interview armed with? Manuals for players, parents, etc. Maybe some potential interview questions, etc>? Anything you think could help?

take a nap in the office right after school, then get things organized to take to the field, check on headsets, footballs, qb, etc.

I thought the Spin running game, by Dale Weiner of Catholic High was the best session. He went into all of the run plays against multiple fronts in great detail. He did a great job in the breakout sessions as well.
Also liked Mike Leach from Texas Tech. he started out the clinic on Friday. If you didn;t know he was a head coach and a brilliant offensive mind, it would be easy to mistake him for some chump. He speaks real slowly and doesn;t show much emotion at all.

went to the 1st year Nike clinic in Baton Rouge. I thought it was very well done, and the speakers were excellent. Dale Weiner did a great job explainign his "Spin" offense. Loved the point counter point between Henderson St. "Scorched Earth" offense, and GMC's 3-3-5 defense. great stuff.
Hopefully it will get bigger, not enough vendors, and small rooms. Having the Mardi Gras debutante girls there helped matters on Saturday night! good times.

I have to disagree with you coach mallory. I think the MHSFCA clinic had a great list of speakers this year and every year. If you heard Pat Fitzgerald speak from NU and didn't get fired up, then you don't have a pulse!
Coach Marin was great, and I always love the "Road to the Dome" speakers on Saturday morning. Usually 4 of the coaches that won the title that year. Always get some great program ideas there. The problem is that guys need to pull themselves away from the beer trough or get their tails out of bed to go actually hear some of these speakers.

"Winning Every Day"- Holtz (excellent!) changed my life!
"Do You Love Football?" - Gruden (shows in depth the travels of a great coach! I love the passion the guy has!)
"When the Game Stands Tall"- about DeLa Salle football!!
