We are a small team as well, Tuesday is always our long day usually out from about 315-530 maybe a little longer depending on how the practices is going. we changed our philosophy this year only to keep us healthier towards the end of the year. we do try to get team offense and defense in everyday. i feel with use technology you can eliminate some of the film study

Trainer is the one who makes those decisions, in the end its his butt on the line if something happens. If he feels player can dress then dress if not depending on the injury the guy needs to be getting the mental reps. I know if a players has a concussion until the cleared to begin the protocol the are not even allowed to smell their equipment

I amnot going to say not hold player accountable, but in the end especially if upper class pt needs to biggest motivator. I had a senior who got lazy and looked for ways out of practice etc... Put a sophomore in total change in attitude. I also believe in open lines of communication with my players if something we drew up just isn't working, don't not do it but have a solution to fix scheme to mark it successful

But does doing burpees make them get their assignments? I see using that during individually time as competition but for missing assignments

I was in this situation a few years ago, we made a committed to young because our seniors were not taking us anywhere, and it was frustrated, the big picture is what is important
why are they missing assignments would be the big question

I think it depends, to me there is a drastic difference between missing assignments as opposed to being uncoachable. If you saying your have a ton sophomores, I think with the inexperience you have to expect the mistakes

We plan to use it at halftime, the other problem is that the size of our staff we cant dedicate just member to having that specific job. Also I feel it maybe information overload during the game

I believe just like in every situation your expectations much be set high and have a plan to meet those expectations. They must be communicated to team, admin, community continually. TO all of this if the players do not buy into what you are doing or do not want to change their behavior I do not care how much talent you have you will not become elite. I live near a town that is awesome in terms of its tradition of excellence and I truly believe it starts with the expectation of a championship season or its a disappointed. Its not just at the facility but through out the community that they players here this expectation and they let them know when they do not live up to this expectation

How long does that take, is there a process you use that streamlines the information?

Its a CYA for us, dont agree with it b/c our summer workouts we are helmets and shoulder pads prior any ways. When you look at other states and what they have in terms of this I think we are fairly easy to follow.

Question for those that handle the recruiting aspect for their teams, do you send out unconsolidated film to schools or do you wait until they contact you for film
Thanks
