Hits me when I see a couple of young (and I mean 2 Freshman and 1 Soph) in a varsity scrimmage turn that light on and do what I have been coaching them to do for the last couple of weeks...that is a what happened today.

I have used both with my OL. I prefer the 3 point. 2 point tends to make them a little lazy...especially in the run game. Low man wins and in the 3 point at least you start low.

Use them and start using them on the first day of practice...make sure the players get used to them. They make you feel a little "dead legged" at first but you get used to it quickly.

One of the best things I used to do when I was in the box was chart formations. Make formation cards...laminate them and use a vis-a-vis marker to diagram how the D lines up to different formations. Good visual for the OC and sure beats trying to read chicken scratch on 6 card. I kept mine to 2 formations on each sheet...rt and lt of a particular formation. Erase them after the game and you have them for next week.

No problems with A4 but we only use them in compression for games...not for every day use...we use the A4 loose fit for practice/offseason gear and they have held up well.

A4 is the brand...cheaper than most and carried by a lot of athletic suppliers.

Our workout tshirts are A4 brand loose fit. Our game undershirts are A4 compression fit. Nice feel dri-fit type shirt and cheaper than other name brands.

If you are an offensive guy the C.O.O.L. Clinic DVDs are great...geared toward O-line play but they cover lots of other aspects of offensive play as well. They are not just drill dvds...they break out specific plays/play series/etc...well worth the money for the dvds.

Tempo...always moving...try and reduce or eliminate down time for anybody as much as possible. I also like running inside hull and team in situations...takes more planning but it is worth it. 3rd and 10...on the 20 yd line and 3 downs to score etc.
