I script pretty much everything we do now in offensive groups and offensive team periods. I don't script indy periods and I leave the defensive periods up to the DC. I leave indy periods up to the position coaches. There was a time when I didn't script. I had an exceptional quarterback and I let him call everything....7 on 7, inside run, team. I would give him some guidelines and turn him loose. I felt like it made him more accountable, made him think more, and gave him greater leadership over the offense. We do that very rarely now. Now that I've gotten away from that, I let our QBs call the offense at 7 on 7s to get some of the same benefits. I make some suggestions, correct his decision making afterwards, but put him in charge of what we're doing out there.
