We no longer meet on the weekends. I assign a coach to do laundry(usually myself). We make cut ups via Hudl and text each other. Won the most games I have ever won as a HC this year.

I always like hearing how guys prepare.I try and get film early on upcoming games. I like to work a bit during the day Monday-Thursday on our next opponent. I usually do this on my prep and lunch. Occasionally after I get my regular weights classes going on the workout for the day. I have a 10 and 4 year old so this saves me tons of time on the weekend. I am the HC and assign coaches various Hudl data to input. The only thing I require of the staff is a zoom meeting on Saturday from 100 PM-2:00 PM. We discuss ideas and have most of the work done by this point. On Sunday after church I go into school to make copies. My wife and daughters come with me and my girls play a bit in the weight room while I make copies. I ask the coaches that any important thoughts on the game plan are shared with me by 1230 on Sunday. It seems reasonable to me. We have been a solid, not spectacular program. 62-32 over the 9 years our staff has been there. Our staff retention with Assistant Coaches has been relatively good with a few coaches leaving to become a HC. The kids have the weekend off. Like some coaches Monday is an install day and the kids go home by 245. We are fortunate to have 7th hour football from 130-230.

This makes a huge difference in how the grind wears on you. When you can get a head start, it helps.

Friday after the game I typically stay up and break down the game film. I like to have grades for players in their locker by the time they kids come in on Saturday. Normally don't sleep much Friday night.
Saturday we bring the kids in for some film work, light lift, get them moving around and pick up the trash of our stadium after a home came. That is a unique thing that has gone on for decades.
The rest of Saturday is Hudl data for the upcoming team. Some college football and a nap.
Sunday we meet in person as a defensive or offensive staff. Come up with a game plan, scout cards, etc. Usually meet Sunday morning and done by 12 or 1 PM.

We lift twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday during our 7th hour class in season.
