So the first time Mama comes in complaining about why Johnny isn't playing, and I tell her that he doesn't give any effort at practice or likes to be a spectator at practice, I can pull up practice film and its right there for them. Film don't lie!

I'm an AD/HC. When I'm no longer an AD, I will want our district's next one to be on there...let them see how much we use it.
In our state it is aidable so I hope we can continue having our district pay for the base subscriptions.

Coaches, Do you know anything about this Hawaiil Bowl game for HS athletes? www.hawaiitikibowl.com/Website looks professional. If it's legit, is it D1 caliber athletes? I have a QB that was invited but he is not a D1 kid.

We give the entire team a home or away every two years. E.g. 2019 - all athletes got our away. 2021 - all will get red.
Allows us to cycle through every four years. Need to find a stock jersey that works for you to do this.

"There is no limit to the number of successful coaching philosophies, any more than there is a limit to coaches’ personalities or backgrounds. Maybe that’s why one of the hardest accomplishments as a new football coach is finding a style that meshes well with the individual". Know thyself, be thyself.

Awesome opportunity. Thank you.
...and just want to make sure I'm reading this right...we can share with all athletes, not just football?

Great ideas thus far. Thank you. I only have 60 min. Some ideas are a separate clinic in themselves. Practice planning, scheme, strength and conditioning, etc. could all be separate clinics. I also want to include ideas that they think they are aware of (or may not be aware of) but have no clue what it really involves. E.g. (how crucial time management is during game week; how to deal with troublesome parent emails, balancing the teaching or job duties, managing staff personalities/problems, etc.) I don't want to talk them into being a HC. I almost want to talk them out of it (not in a negative way), but to say, if you really want to do this, you need to bring "X, Y, Z" to the table. Maybe you could use a simple graphic/diagram for your presentation. Divide HC responsibilities into "inside the building" and "outside the building"?

Administrator first, coach a distant 2nd (even though it's no less important).
Think budgets, practice schedules, organizing schemes, fundraisers, parent communication, compliance with school academic rules, overall program discipline, equipment management, gameday responsibilities, coordinating/aligning lower levels, organizing conferences, time management techniques/recommendations, managing other coaches, athlete conditioning, parent concerns/meetings, etc.

There's a video from Simon Sinek about "Johnny Bravo." I think that's a really good story and he tells it really well. Good stuff. Johnny Bravo

Coaches,
I'm starting to put together a Captains' Club and am looking for some good, quick videos as jump off points for discussion. Anyone have anything they could share?

We have a ball in our kids hands as much as possible during practice.
E.g. doing agilities/ropes - they are high and tight with coaches constantly swatting/ripping at ball.

Here are the situations we rehearse. 14. Field goal team with no time-out's This is an example of what I'm talking about (in addition to what you all have listed). We do the same and when I reflect on our season I think about how many times we practiced this (every week) and never actually used it. Our kids obviously need to know what to do but am I short changing other more used "base" stuff to repeatedly rep a play that is seldom, if ever, used in our program.

Coaches,
I'm interested to know how often you practice certain scenarios vs the likelihood to encounter the situation in a game to prep your athletes.
For instance, taking a safety during punt. Once you've installed it, how often do you actually revisit the concept during the season? Do you remind players about it during team meetings? Actually walk through every week? Every other week? Not at all once it's in?
Do you keep a binder of illustrations/plays to show during a timeout if needed?
There are so many potential situations to discuss...how do you... 1. Prioritize before game 1 2. Address throughout the season

Coaches, We used to have the "Mayors Cup" vs our neighbor. Here's a link to all Bleacher Report's Top College Rivalry Trophies . Do you have a trophy for your rivalry game? Anyone started one recently? I've been thinking about trying to get a couple going for our games. We have the Wildfire Trophy between Westhampton Beach HS and Eastport- South Manor High School. The South Manor kids used to go to Westhampton before they merged with Eastport and built their own school. We have been playing for over 10 years but this year we decided to give the game a name. It is named after the Wildfire that started on the east end of Long Island and raged between the districts communities. The trophy is to honor all the local fire departments that fought the fire and saved hundreds of homes from disaster. We put the helmet badge of the six fire departments that fought the fire from the two districts fire departments. Wild Fire on Long Island Awesome.

Do you have a school about halfway that would allow you to use their field for a stretch/walk through?

You should go position by position O/D/ST and articulate the technique you want in a given circumstance or call.
From there, expand outward and show your players why/how their technique affects the bigger picture. You can articulate this through diagrams, film, on field examples, playbooks, etc.
Then, take the concept to your conditioning, fundraising, etc. The "why behind the what" is what we should all have on our brains.

It gives you the option to just send the wide shot when you exchange with the other team Right. Problem here is that the other team doesn't use hudl so I need to send them a link. When I went to download the film it has both angles together. I "exchanged" with our JV team to only send the wide shot and then downloaded from there.

...figured it out...for anyone else out there, I did an exchange with my JV team and shared just the pressbox view and then downloaded from the JV team's library. I'm sure there's an easier way but...

Anyone know of a work around to download just the pressbox view of hudl?
I need to share video with another team that doesn't use Hudl and I only am sending pressbox view, not endzone. I can't figure out how to separate them pre-download.

I think trying to connect those two things is tenuous at best. How long have you been working multiple snap counts? And are you heavily focussed on said snap counts? Maybe you should focus on NOT listening to the snap count, just watching your key. Thanks for the feedback. That's just it...our d doesn't listen for snap count all week and moves solely on the ball. We get to a game and jump. ...at a loss here...
