I'm only a JV Coach but the way that we determine positions is what is best for the team and style of play. Our best TE and our best RB are also our best Offensive Tackles. Guess where we put them? Tackle. In our offensive scheme, linemen are far more important than running backs. Anyone could play running back in our scheme and be successful with a great O-Line, and a great running back would be nothing without a good O-Line. On Defense, FS is a very important position in my mind. But I like to solidify the trenches before anything else.

As a young coach in Utah, here is my list. Feel free to correct me or add on.
Utah
Fred Fernandes - Roy High School - In 12 seasons as a head coach at Northridge and Woods Cross, his teams amassed an 87-43 record, including three 5A state titles with Northridge from 2000 to 2002. Runner up in 2014. He wins wherever he goes.
John Colosimo - Juan Diego Catholic High School - 200+ Wins, 6 State Championships 2002, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2015. (Split back Veer) Winningest Program in the state.
Brandon Matich - East High School - He was a rival coach, but I have so much respect for him and what he's doing. Took a broken East team and turned them into contenders every year and finally won the 4A State Championship this year. (Flexbone Offense)
Cole Meacham - Manti High School - 4 State Championships, does the best with what he has. Has won 3 games against Juan Diego. Constantly gives bigger better teams headaches. (Fly offense)
Eric Kjar - Jordan High School - Offensive Genius, doesn't matter what players he has, he will breed a quarterback and always lead the state in total yards. Won state in 2012 when he was paired with a great defense.
Cary Whittingham - Timpview High School - Dynasty. Since 2004 Timpview has won 8 State Championships. Coach Whitt took over in 2012 and right off the bat he won 3 in a row finally losing this year to East in the Title game. No matter who the coach is for Timpview they will win, but Coach Whitt has done a great job reloading and carrying the torch. (His brother is HC for Utah Kyle Whittingham.)
*Dave Peck - retired but coming back this year - Bingham High School - In his 15 years as the head coach at Bingham, Peck compiled a record of 154-37. His teams won 10 region championships, five state titles including 2 of the last 3, and finished second twice. He built a powerhouse in 5A.
*Larry Wall - retired this year - Bountiful High School - Wall guided Bountiful to a 238-116 record, with four state championships (1990, 1991, 2002, 2003) and six region championships (1990, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2010, 2012).
*Mike Favero - retired this year - Logan High School -149-60, with five state titles, in 17 years atop the program. Favero was known for his offensive ingenuity, as one of the first local prep coaches to popularize the spread formation.

Here in Utah, Public Schools and Private Schools compete in the same classification. But there isn't a Private School big enough to compete in the top 2 Classes. (5A, and 4A)
