In my district it’s between 1800 and 2800 depending on years experience.

Delta-to be honest whatever I want it to be. I’m sure there is something on paper somewhere. But I’ve never seen it or been shown it. In season we generally lift, film, chalk talk. Off season we generally just lift/run.

I am a HC in NC. I teach PE. Alot (not all) head coaches around here are PE teachers, and most of those teach wt. lifting. My schedule looks like this
Fall 1. Fresh. Health and PE (freshmen football players only) 2. Prep Period 3. Prep Period 4. Football Class
Spring 1. Football Class 2. PE 2 3. Prep Period 4. Fresh Health and PE

i believe rosi coaches in Czechoslovakia. blb is correct. I am from Czech Republic. I take break from coaching after 10 years and I will doing only my job (coaching football was never my job). And I would like watch some quality HS football during this time. IMO no team from our highest adult level can compare with top50 maybe 100 HS in U.S. Many HS coaches have to handled similar conditions like europen team. E.g. rosters 35-60 players in same level, different level of facilities number of coaches, averege athletics talebt, football skill, football IQ and etc. A lot of similarities. ok, more specific. If I am compare play-off brackets at highest level in eg. Texas (6A) vs Idaho (5A) then which play-off will have better quility. Simply highest level vs highest level. Is it clear? I could be wrong because I have never seen Idaho football and have only seen Texas HS football on film, but I'd venture to say that Texas highest level is better than Idaho's highest level. Texas highest level is probably some of the best HS football in the country.

If you are talking about best in terms of facilities, coaches pay, and level of play. Texas, Ga, and parts of SC come to mind.
If you’re just talking about player talent. Florida and California have to be at the top. They just don’t have the resources of those other places.

Yea. Kinda a pain in the rear. You bust your butt to help a kid get recruited. Call, text, email every college around. Get no response whatsoever. And then later on find out they have been invited for a visit or offered. I don’t see why a response and being kept in the loop is too much to ask.

Kinda depends on group. For example OL get extra indy time during 7 on 7. But on average we practice an hour for each side of the ball a day. Monday you get 15-20 min (not counting these periods where you can steal some extra time) Tuesday 15 min. Wednesday 10

Made that move a couple of times and it turned out pretty good.
Two days ago I got a message from a mom of a kind who moved into our program in the spring of his soph. year. Kid is a stud, ran for almost 3000 yards as a junior, but tore his knee up week 5 this, his Sr year. Anyone, mom talked about her son was a better person, and had grown up so much and matured so much, and she was so proud of him, and she wanted me to know that she thought alot of the reason for this was because of our football program. We accepted him immediately, we taught and held him to high standards, we gave him the opportunity to be great, and we loved him still when he got hurt. Thanked me for helping make her son a man. Meant alot to me.

IDK that we are a perennial winner yet......our program has been really bad in the past, but we are 26-6 in the last 3 years that I have been here, and 36-9 in the last 4. This year we were 12-1 and won our first conference title since 1976, and my Principal made the comment to a member of the media, that it was the best start to a school year he had experienced as a Principal.
I would say it results in more school spirit and pride and a general better attitude amongst the students and staff. Also, winning results in more people attending the games, and better gates, which gives the athletic department more money and resources for other sports.

We went to UNC Charlotte last year and it was a 6 game minimum in the morning I believe, followed by a single elimination tournament. Seems like it cost us $200, but there was no lunch, and no T shirts provided. Depending on what you plan to provide as far as food and T shirts go, somewhere between 200 and 500 dollars per team is probably about right.

I would add vid swap as an option. More afford than hudl sideline. And once we learned how to get it set up right. Worked great the rest of the season.

Coaching and scheme matter as long as talent is within a certain amount of each other. Once the talent gap becomes too large. Coaching and scheme no longer matter.

I have done it, but my daughters competitive cheer team has, if a kid sales every day of their month, they bring in 492 dollars I believe it is. Times that by how many ever kids you have and its a pretty good fundraiser even if they dont sale all their days.

Idk. I’ve only ever worked in NC. I’m at the step on the scale that makes 52000 or so. Cost of living is pretty low. I get an extra month from our district for being the HC. Plus a 5400 supplement. So I make around 65 K. That’s pretty good for this poor rural area. I think Asst coach supplements in our district start around 2k. Our Asst football coaches who are the head baseball and softball coaches make more for football than the sport they are the HC for. It is kind of sickening that less than 10 miles away is an SC school of roughly the same size and their HC makes 90-100 HC
That being said. I grew up pretty poor. So 65k is a lot of money compared to what I grew up with in my family.

Adam Carter-I think the name of it was Compete with the Stack or something like that. Very good info about 3-3 and 3 safety system. Idk if he still actively does then. But I listened to about all of them while we were shut down for covid.

Because at times the other “adults” don’t hold them to the same or any standards for that matter. I'm a big fan of multi-sport athletes. Other than our weightlifting period where they are lifting 4 days a week, I never did anything in the offseason unless kids asked for meetings. Go develop skills in Wrestling, Basketball, Track, Soccer, Tennis, ... Compete and get better as an overall athlete. It's easier to coach athletes and why not let other adults in the building do part of your job for you?

We have all our players in 1st period wt training second semester. Class lasts 1.5 hours. Workout is about an hour. Early in the winter we lift 4 days, and do speed, plyos, COD stuff one day. Once weather warms up enough for us to get outside some we lift 3 days, do what we did above 1 day, and go outside and run 1 day.
Start going outside sometime in mid March after school if you are not playing a spring sport. One day a week per position group for an hour.
10 days of spring practice in May, 2 hour practices
Summer program 4 days a week after school gets out. 3 hours a day. 4th day is usually some kind of 7 on 7 and/or team practice type thing.
Everything after school is voluntary in NC. No mandatory workouts or practices until the 1st day of practice.

Take time to enjoy it. We set the school record for wins Friday with 12. Now in 3rd round of playoffs. Got a great group of kids and it is a lot of fun this year. I am bad not to enjoy the victories. But to want to move directly on to the next one. Take time to enjoy them. Bc the next season you may not have the chance to.
