Currently a DC in a AAA Texas school. It appears that I will be teaching 5 classes this next year. Four regular gov./eco. classes as well as one AP Macro/Gov. class. We are on a 7 period day. I could have only 4 periods, but would have an average of 35-37 students in each of the regular classes. I have chosen to take an extra class and coach on my conference period. Have normally had only 4 classes, 2 athletic periods, and a prep period befofre I came here. I have been a DC in AA, AAAS, AAAA schools over the last 30 years. This will be my first year at this school.

I don't teach any classes because I have some admin duties assigned to me, and we have about 12 teachers in our high school.

I notice most people didn't answer this question... I just interviewed for a Job in NC where the HC had 1 class during the Fall, and 2 During the spring. They have 4 periods per day. I am the HC and I have 3 classes out of 4 Periods. I was really shocked to see how things differ from state to state. I hope that everyone would chime in!
