For you guys that only teach 3 or 4 classes, are you still considered a full time teacher? How does the district justify that to other teachers and community?
I would love to be in that position....teach 2 or 3 classes and then take on football the rest of the day
Also, what exactly is an athletic period?

DC in Virginia, teach 5 classes of World History II out of 7 blocks total, one planning and one duty. Same as everyone else in the building. I take that back, the AP teachers, the Choir teacher, the band teacher, and the SGA sponsor all get two planning and no duty.
And many of the afternoon planning blocks go to people who leave at the final bell and don't sponsor/coach anything... only part that frustrates me really

DC at a community college.
In the fall I teach 50% of my load in the classroom (2 classes from (7:50 until 12:30 2 days a week)...other 50% is football.
In the spring I teach 80% of my load in the classroom (2 classes on MWF and 2 different classes on T/TH) and other 20% is football related.
It's a good gig...can't complain. ;D
