Varsity O/C of a 5A school in Illinois (about 1400 kids)
Teach 4 periods of language arts and 1 period of Advanced language arts a day to 7th graders. 1 prep period and 1 "conference" period per day. Day starts at 7:35 and the last class is over at 2:35.
With any luck, I will be at the high school next year teaching either upper-level social studies courses or driver's education.

I had almost identical schedules at the two schools I've taught at--Freshmen/sophomore English six out of the seven class periods with third hour prep. Contract at both schools called for five classes, so I did get a stipend. At School B, though, I lost my prep period at least twice a week due to "School Within a School" meetings. That's the program that my classes were a part of. I'm currently a volunteer coach for a program and I sub teach now.

;nexthc tell the whole story. You PM me all the time when you're "teaching". ;D
I notice a lot of "Football PE" type of classes. This would be a dream come true but how is it scheduled? What if I kick a kid off the team or he quits? Is he now out of my class?
I teach 2 sections of Team Sports, 3 sections of Weight Training, 1 section of Drug Education. I am still working my way into weight training all day.
