Let me ask this, am I in bad taste wearing a hat backwards? I just feel like with a headset on it is more comfortable and I do not have the bill in my eyesight. Thoughts? Then why wear a hat at all?

I think it's kinda funny how coaches can get judged on their football knowledge and coaching prowess by what they wear to a game. I don't care if the other team's coach has his face painted and is wearing a tutu, I'm not going to underestimate him based on his attire. obviously you have a terrible sense of humor.

One thing I'll add about sideline attire: If the school provides me with gear (and mine does) they get to tell me what to wear. If not just be happy that I don't like tie-dye.

If its a Saturday afternoon game I dress a bit different than Friday night.
I am coming straight from the gym so
doo rag very expensive sunglasses straw or toothpick sticking out of mouth while chewing huge wad of chew (away games) or gum (home games)
muscle shirt (former lifting tee from my high school days) If that's out then its usually a lookalike Charlie brown tee shirt (yellow with black bolt design around it) adidas three strip tennis pants or 1980s parachute pants with camo design flip flops or wrestling shoes.

Black golf shorts, team colored shoes, team hoodie, hat backwards. Coach in CA where I don't have to worry about weather.

If you can't be a coach, at least look like one.

To me wearing a hat backward looks bush.
But I never told my assistants not to.
It's a personal taste thing, like shorts in all weather.
Now the guy from another school who wore a fanny pack (and he was a cop no less)...

Khaki and Polo. Long sleeve Nike hyper warm if its a bit chilly. Jacket if it rains. Simple. Not a fan of the visor look at all. Go back to the golf course. Our HC wears one, but in his defense he does have REALLY good hair. lol come on man... The visor is the ONLY way to go. But that could be cus i'm a Bob Stoops disciple.. BOOMER.. *ducks out of the way*

Gotta keep the silver label sticker there too on my flat brim, better tilted a bit to the side than turnt backwards.

once saw a guy at a baseball game shield his eyes from the sun with his hand for a good hour... He had a hat on backwards. I couldn't pat attention to the game as I kept checking to see if he was still being an idiot lol... Blew me away.. I'm easily entertained I suppose

It can be uncomfortable with the hat forwards. Maybe that's why I take the headset off so often. I don't think it's that big of a deal.

just my personal opinion, but I think the backwards hat is a no go... Also wearing shorts is frowned upon in Texas. There are a few coastal schools that do it but they generally get made fun of for it. It's so uncommon here that it looks peewee when people do it. I've never been anywhere that doesn't provide at least a shirt, hat and practice gear. We are generally responsible for buying our own khakis, but we almost always put someone in charge of ordering them for us so we all look the same. A few guys I've worked for have insisted on wearing black because there's "only one shade of black".

I don't really understand why you'd bother to put on a hat to wear it backwards. A few guys can pull it off, but most look like tools. Plus, it defeats the purpose of the hat.

1. Feels more comfortable with the headset on.
2. Sun sets behind our sideline most games so it's where the sun would be.
3. Bill doesn't get in my view.
4. I played catcher for five years when I played baseball so I'm more accustomed to wearing it backward rather than forward.

Gotta be honest here, I also kinda dress like a DB regularly so I kinda like that factor. I also wear white sunglasses when I'm in Vegas. ;-)

If the coaches further inland make fun of us for that, let them. They can sweat their huevos off if they want to. I was at a game once where the coaches dressed very professionally. They were dressed identically: Long-sleeved white dress shirts and ties, sweater vests, and khakis. Trouble was, it was a day game over Labor Day weekend on artificial turf. I may not have looked as professional but I never needed an IV after the game.

I just feel it's like any other profession. you aren't playing the game, so you should dress like a professional adult. Backwards hat screams manboy.

- Saw an HC that wore a backwards hat and qb towel. This was during a 7on7, but I think his gameday attire was similar. He is no longer the HC. - Also theres a coach that wears shorts and BRIGHT RED CROCS every game.
I was taught khakis are the way to go. Regardless of how hot it is i'll wear pants. I wore a hat 2 seasons. Went a combined 4-17. I'm back to no hat. Once I get older and lose my hair i'll probably have to go back to the hat.
