Coaches, after watching a few A Football Life's it led me back to something I've always wondered...Why don't coaches wear a suit and tie anymore? After searching online I found that it has to do with the league and wearing the sponsor's team apparel. Anyway, I'm curious what you all wear on the sidelines. Thanks in advance.

Kahki pants, team polo, and team sweatshirt (if needed) Id love to rock a suit and tie on the sideline...maybe i will one day.

I've contemplated the Jim Tressel sweater vest and tie look, not super keen on it. Kinda like Al Golden's collared shirt and tie look, can see myself doing that pretty easily.
This is all moot until I'm a header because until then I wear what I'm told, which is always khakis and team polo shirt.

We believe it's important for us to look professional and dress alike.Every Thursday (we play on Friday nights) we remind each other of the "uniform of the day" so that we wear the same thing. Khaki shorts and team polo during warm weather, khaki trousers, team polo, and coaches jacket (we have coaches' jackets and tops that are different from what the kids have) in winter. Also team cap or team winter hat.

My staff wears a matching polo and khakis. I've alternated between a polo, a white dress shirt and tie, and now an under armor running jacket I had embroidered. I switched from khaki pants to gray flat front golf pants.

I am that guy that wears shorts no matter the temperature. Having coached in Illinois for 7 years I got used to it. You would have thought I was an alien doing that in North Carolina this past season.

As a staff we all wear black slacks (under armour are amazing) and cage jackets. Then when it cools down you're pretty much on your own as long as it's a team issued.

We wear khakis and polos.
I don't own a suit or a tie. Plus I don't know how to tie a tie. And I only own two dress shirts to go with a tie.

Giller That's what we wear, black ua Pants Grey or red polo Gets cool we had a red cafe jacket this year And a grey half Zip long sleeve Black ua jackets
When it gets cold header says wear whatever to stay warm, but it better not be camo or something distracting
We also have a heavier storm ua jacket And a local bank have us port authority heavy coats Which are awesome , but the 2 times we have worn them we have been beat, so never again on game nite! Lol

Khaki pants, polo, hat
Coat when cold...I have rain gear from Cabella's that I wear as well.
It doesn't really snow much around here until February so we don't worry about all that.

We wear Khakis or khaki shorts and a team polo. We tried coordinating our outfits but most of our coaches are out of the building so it was more trouble than it's worth.

You would have thought I was an alien doing that in North Carolina this past season. When I lived there it was the same for me. Now it's a polo and khakis with long sleeves underneath since I'm on top of the box at most places and the mountain winds are nasty.

I wear clothes.
Sorry, that was just the first thing that came to mind when I saw this. In all honesty though, khaki shorts, team polo, and team baseball hat. At a previous stop our HC required us to wear khaki dress pants, he even bought all on staff a pair that we were required to wear on game days so we would "match." I thought that was a bit much; its your show dude, I'll wear pants, but telling me which khakis to wear is a bit over the top for my taste. Maybe I'll feel different when/if I get a HC gig, but as an assistant I thought it was nuts. My HC in high school didn't rock the full suit, but did to shirt and tie (the rest of his staff chose either khaki pants or shorts and team polo) which is not plan for the if/when scenario.
As to why HCs don't do the full story anymore; I threw this out to my wife once and her comment was "you may wear it, but I'm the one who will clean it, so think again..."

When it's hot I wear khaki shorts and a team polo (opposite color of our jerseys so kids can find me easier for calls) and when it's cold I'll wear khaki pants and a team colored hoodie. I wear a visor regardless (day games, so sun is a pain most of the time).

We wear polos and khaki pants. When I take over a program I plan on wearing a dri fit team short sleeve or long sleeve, and a fishing vest over it.

Khaki and Polo. Long sleeve Nike hyper warm if its a bit chilly. Jacket if it rains.
Simple.
Not a fan of the visor look at all. Go back to the golf course. Our HC wears one, but in his defense he does have REALLY good hair.

My first year coaching the offensive coordinator I worked for said that if the other teams coaches are wearing shorts then it is sure fire way to know that you can scheme them up. I've lived by that ever since.

Game time is pretty standard, khakis and polo(opposite color of jersey). Am I the only guy who takes multiple undershirts and drifits to put on for pregame or for a dry shirt at half? It is a carry over from playing days, I changed socks and undershirts at halftime and shirts multiple times during baseball.

For me in PA it's black nike golf shorts, black team polo (short sleeve or long sleeve), no show black socks, black/white nike coaching shoes, and a black/red team visor or hat.

I think it's kinda funny how coaches can get judged on their football knowledge and coaching prowess by what they wear to a game. I don't care if the other team's coach has his face painted and is wearing a tutu, I'm not going to underestimate him based on his attire.

I wear pants...just my preference. Off topic but newt21 mentioned the judging by the look of another coach...in high school our basketball coach had a rule. If a kid on the other team came out wearing a headband we called a backdoor cut on him first play...I can't remember a time we didn't get a layup.

Let me ask this, am I in bad taste wearing a hat backwards? I just feel like with a headset on it is more comfortable and I do not have the bill in my eyesight. Thoughts?
