Coaches, what are some fundraising ideas that you have uses or ones that you will never use again? Thanks in advance.

We're expecting to make between $15-30K this year without having to do any "selling" or collecting any money with Atleta Performance Nutrition. This will help you get bigger, faster, and stronger, while taking care of your football budget problems.
Shoot me an email neil.weiner@zacharyschools.org
I'll give you more details

Our biggest yearly fundraiser is a Crab Feed. We make most of our money at the bar! We also have a raffle and silent auction.

public.me.com/c.kester Pwd is Wildcats. Look for the Fundraisers.pdf in the file list. Let me know if you have any questions. The other files are yours as well if you find them useful.

Nice list of ideas. Although, I'm thinking the topless car wash wouldn't fly around my place (even after reading the explanation, lol), but most of the others are great.

Somebody posted to a thread like this discussing how they cut old helmets in half and made a plaque out of them. Can anyone help me with what thread this was in or what member posted it?

For all of you that do the golf tournament...how do you guys organize it? How do you run it? What is included in the price?

For all of you that do the golf tournament...how do you guys organize it? How do you run it? What is included in the price? Tried to post the flyer for our golf outing in April. I don't have anything to do with it so I'm not sure of the intimate details. I think we cleared like $5,500 last year as the very first time it was done. Wasn't 'sold out' because of little marketing, but it was successful enough to warrant doing it again. This year we're partnering with the basketball team. We'll see how that goes.

As for the golf tournament it's a scramble format. $100 a person. Teams of 4. We make about $30 a person out of the $100. We make most of our money on tee sponsors. It's $100 for a tee and you get your company/bar/business/restaurant name on a sign at the tee. We've had 2 or 3 sponsors per tee before. So that's $100 x 54. That's $5,400 right there. (Minus $10 per sign). We also have a raffle and a 50/50. Depening on how many people you get, you can make anywhere from 5K to 35K.

During two weeks in August we sell discount cards through first team sports. We also do a letter writing campaign through them too.
In four years we average clearing $25,000 - $30,000 total. It is easy..
We blitz 3rd week in August and that night the players address the letters made by first team sports and they send them out.
That night we usually clear 17,000 - 20,000 from the cards. Right into our account (This includes the cut they take). From there we usually clear another $5,000 - $7,000 range from letter writing.
Easty and we do not lift a finger as coaches. Our players get a lot of nice stuff.

Every golfer gets a t-shirt, and a golf towel, which are all paid for by sponsors. We also have had success getting local places to donate food and cater the event. One of our biggest expenditures is actually the soda and beer.

Last year we did a classic/custom car show. A lot of fun. Not sure how much we brought it but it was a good amount. I have a buddy who's the head coach at another high school and he does a fireworks stand every year. Makes a ton of money off of it.

Any of you out there coach in a rural/county school? Meaning in a county of <12K and a county seat of 2,500? We are a school of about 750. How good are you doing with things? We've been able raise anywhere from 12-16K each of the past few years doing things like: -Gold Cards in July like many of you already do. -BBQ Chicken Dinners in the Spring @ our county lake which has, what's equivalent to the county's main reception hall. -cookie dough/sweets sales through gearupamerica.com -apparel sales at games and preseason orders -program ads. -concessions at Little League.
Definately thinking about doing the golf scramble this year, but is anybody else in a similar situation as far as being in a small community like this? Anybody making serious cash for your program? If so, how?

We are in rural area, we do much of the same Holmesbend! We did a letter Writing fundraiser for the first time this year and we made about 3 grand with it, we thought it was going to be a lot better. There are companies that will do the letter writing and thank you's for you. Poker tournament is an idea some of the coaches have been throwing around.

We are a rural school also and sell parking spots with their name on it. Everyone knows who has paid and who hasn't paid. We make around 15,000 with a few signs around the scoreboard.

Pardon the ignorance, but what exactly is the letter writing? Writing to whom? Has anybody ever heard of doing a fundraiser distributing phone books in there area?

Good stuff. Pardon the ignorance, but what exactly is the letter writing? Writing to whom? Our letter writing campaign is fairly simple. Every player in the program from grade 7 through grade 12 shows up for the first day of summer workouts with 10 stamps, 10 envelopes, and 10 different addresses. Those addresses are of family and friends. We have a form letter that they'll fill out and sign, and then stuff into the envelopes. The letter talks about the success of the program, the success of our kids in the classroom and the community. It also talks about the costs, and the need for donations to help maintain our program at the current high level. This letter is also sent to local businesses from the HC of our program. Our letter writing campaign does very well each summer.

holmesbend,
wybulldogs hit it on the head, except we don't have any contact with our 7-9th graders they are at a different school and start at different times and don't do any fundraising, they just work on showing up on time and getting better at football. I will say this, we have been thinking of stepping it up a notch on the thank you notes that follow any donations that come in, with sending a old jersey or old helmet or something to the businesses that donate more then the individuals.

Thank you cards are a big thing with us, they take a ton of time, but when someone is donating any amount of money, it's worth it. We've done football, jerseys, and helmets to our big donors as well. When we have grades 7-12 included in this, we're looking at roughly 120-140 kids, each sending out 10 letters. It's an easy fundraiser, that when presented correctly can do very well.

We sell the parking spots for $100. Our booster club raised $18,000 with the signs around the scoreboard. Some companies buy 5 parking spots. We normally have big crowds for a school with 323 students. We have a section of fans that are all 70 years old or older and they would kill for the parking spot. True!
