Update... kind of We had practice tonight and i briefly spoke with the Var HC. He told me that he thought it would be beneficial for me to work with (under) the new frosh HC as he is a regimented coach who has experience within their offense, and that if i wanted to be a coordinator in the future it would be a good opportunity for me to learn and gain some experience. He did not mention anything else about staff moves or anything of that nature, he just told me to try and learn from the varsity OL coach about their steps/drills/language etc going forward and in to the summer. I don’t think the Varsity HC was pleased with the performance of his freshman team staff last year

Sounds reasonable. I feel like the Varsity HC didn't like what happened last year so he brought back the original head coach (OC) to run things and call plays. You are an inexperienced coach within their system and its obvious he feels like you are not ready to be a coordinator. Learn as much as you can and maybe that will change. Good luck.

Here's my take: the varsity HC is not pleased with the freshman team. You can't blame it on weird kids. You got kids who can't learn what you're teaching at the freshman level, then it's too complicated or you can't teach it. Simplify. Anyhow, he sent somebody to fix it. He told that person "fix it" and left it to them to do so. He's not contacting everyone on the freshman level to give them new assignments. He's putting that on the new-old freshman HC. The varsity guy has other fish to fry. He's delegating.
He also doesn't think you're ready. He's telling you learn from these guys who know what he wants. You can either accept that and learn from them, or you can move on.
