I think that Pekin HS in Illinois is the Dragons now, but "Chinks" was pretty horrific!
The guy who was the announcer for my HS football games wrote a book called "Why Mascots Have Tails". It has the stories behind the wacky mascots that many Illinois high school have.
Pretzels, by the way is the mascot of not ONE, but TWO Illinois high schools, if you can believe that! (New Berlin and Freeport).

being in New Mexico you would think that the wolf (lobo) would prevail, but alas the mascot of Tigers (including bengals), Cougars, and Bears roam wildly though out the state.
