He posted some Gary Patterson TCU stuff and was assassinated. Who knew that blue, bronco, and special coverage were state secrets. James Light is lucky he shuttered his website after that whole run and shoot playbook debacle a few years back.

I dunno, man. I see teams like Camp Central and Byron HS in IL winning state titles and Scott County in KY all doing it by running UC wing-t scheme. Just well-coached disciplined teams, that as an outsider looking-in seem to have a great connection between, players, coaches, admin, and community. I don't really believe one offense or defense is better than another. They just might have a specific niche/environment that it is best suited, but other than that it's just preference, it's like arguing over which deli makes the best sub sandwich to me. Just my two cents.

lotta mileage out of this innocuous news update HUEY BOARD COACHING STAFF meetings would be stuff of legends COACH HUEY: "Aight guys, lets go over opponents two minute game...." Coach X: "I remember one time, back in '88....or maybe it was '78, anyhoos.....it was snowing in the semi-finals and we were trailing 4 with 6 minutes to go. I said to my Oline coach Johnny Pepper......or was it Jimmy Chili, cant remember....but I wanted to get one of those hot dogs from the concession stands and bet him we could probably get one in under 2 minutes and then..." Coach Y: "look, its clear their go-to is #87. They like him on a out & up or a sideline bench from a semi-roll...." Coach B: "thats what they want you to think. It would be stupid to forget about the run game here. They should have a midline triple option package just for these situations. I've seen it before. Anyone who doesn't believe me, sucks [censored] by choice" Coach 99: "you would say that...you're always sucking [censored]" Coach PDQ: [censored] [censored] [censored] [censored] (throws chair) Does your return here mean we're also getting more on the old website too,or is that a no go?

Wishing coach all the lil Debbie's and Cokes he can eat and drink that Miss Terry will allow in retirement. Unseen levels of excellence and dominance which is hard to do in this era of media scrutiny and spotlight.

IMHO, you should let the HC & coordinator know what's going on, so that they're aware and can provide you with a united front when/if the situation escalates and stronger intervention needs to be implemented. The next thing I would after consulting with HC is have a conversation with the kid and reinforce what the expectations for his behavior and conduct is on and off the field. And in that conversation really try to gauge what's going on with the kid. A lot of assumptions are being made, but none of us have any idea what may or may not be going on in this kids family life or with him internally/emotionally/ mentally. That doesn't mean to coddle him or anything like that, but you're the adult and he's the kid. It is expected of them to act on and push limits, you're the adult, so remain calm, and act responsibly even if the student/athlete isn't.
If after having the discussion with the student and nothing has changed in their behavior and conduct, then consequences need to be implemented, and if the student has changed his behavior for the better, then you need openly acknowledge and reinforce those behaviors as well. Just continue to reach out to him and let him know you're only there to help him and the team get better.
Ultimately, the student will change or he won't, there will be natural consequences for his behavior if it doesn't click soon, but those are his choices and he'll have to live with the decisions he's made. Stay positive,be compassionate, set limits, be firm, remember you're the adult and he's the child, so there are no power struggles to engage in. I hope you find the right solution for this issue and good luck to you this season.

Boise State. 20-30 years of competitive and successful football at both the FBS & FCS level under multiple head coaches. Whether in the now defunct WAC, old Big West conference and currently the Mountain West, they've owned those conferences when the were member over them.
