I'm not much of a clapper, but I'm definitely down with the fist pump:

Guilty as charged. I must say that I also love the Tiger pump after a TD. Nothing better.

I make Jon Gruden look like a statue . I get so into it. I have, in the past, run over the water boys, the mascot, anybody on the sideline when I'm following one of my players down the sideline. The kids think it is a riot, and after seeing myself on a video, I think I'm an idiot but I do have fun.

I'm a clapper, screamer and down right loud mouth. Practice or games, it doesn't make a difference.

I am a head shaker when things go bad and a one handed first pump up to a high five with the same hand after every defensive stop or offensive point scored.

Interesting too would be how you have changed with experience...i used to scream and coach and be all emotional...it was all because my team was poorly prepared...now, i dont even celebrate tds, i just think about what im calling next for the two pt conversion. i call time outs, never to fire the boys up or any of that nonsense, but to correct alignment or coverage errors or blocking etc... very much like a chess player rather than the cheerleader for sure. I recall talkign to a long time vet...he said to me 'ah, i dont even get nervous anymore, i know i have prepared the kids"...that really opened my eyes...

I'm most definitely a clapper. The kids think it's funny because I'm constantly clapping no matter what I'm saying. This year was my first year coaching so I was for some reason a little hesitant to show a lot of emotion at first. That started to change during the season. That's continuing to change with me coaching wrestling now. Last night at our first tournament, I think I showed the most emotion I've ever shown in my life. I probably looked a bit like a fool, but the kids loved it and asked why I wasn't like that in football.

I used to get really into the games when I was working with another team as a student. I tended to do the Spuierr and throw the hat or visor on the ground at least once a game and yanked it off my head a couple of times a game. I did this at the school I am at now at got a big time lecture on how I should keep my composer at all times. Since that incident I tend to stay very calm on the sidelines. I am still a yeller and show more emotion at practice now then I do in games.

My first year I was a hat thrower, (you would have been too with that team) but a few years later and we got a lot better, I don't think i'm a clapper but I'm definitely a fist pumper.

I like to mix it up!
My base play is a bed of expletives with some sideline pacing and staring....
Then when something REALLY good happens I go for the double fist pump, usually ended with a wild throw of the overhand left!
Other than that I like the single finger wag, but not side to side, but forward and back.... and I'll usually kiss it first.... basically it's Thierry Henry's old goal celebration! That probably means nothing to you guys tho, lol!
Plus I growl a lot, have an angry face on most the time..... the last game I puked on the sideline!
Haha, I'm a crazy kid!

we had an assistant coach two years ago get in trouble / sued (in another conference) for getting so worked up in the pressbox, that he broke the glass partition....showering the fans with glass (and expletives).

I'm a fist pumper definately, but I'm more of the wait for it, wait for it on a TD fist pump. You know, where you show absolutely no emotion til the moment your player crosses the goal line, then you throw the solid fist pump. There are times I will run with the catch, but its usually on a play that came out of nowhere and just stunned the defense, like a well-timed play action for example ;D

That probably means nothing to you guys tho, lol Not all of us hate soccer. I definitely know what you are talking about. Henry (and Arsenal for the matter) is the greatest! Does anyone else have the problem of getting so pumped up they give themselves migraines, or am I just retarded? I've had problems with concussions in the past and I get really bad migraines. Adrenaline keeps me going on the sideline, but I pay for everything when I get home and start to calm down. On a side note I actually sprained my thumb on a botched clap earlier this season. Wow did I feel stupid after that...

Definately a clapper but more of a finger pointer and screamer rather than a fist pumper.
