Some other all time favorites from clinics that I can't stand:
"We don't do anything that you guys don't already know, in fact you all probably do it better."
"This has been great for us and can work against any scheme. Oh, well when they do that then our Mike just makes a check and our Sam walks up and we make a 'wham' call and then our Fox has Possum technique. But other than that there are no checks."
Serious--the funniest speaker I heard was a H.S. coach from somewhere who started off talking about how bad his defense was 3 years before. He told about all the odd schemes they tried, then would show clips of it absolutely failing. Spent first 10-15 minutes doing this. Then talks about the changes they went through, the way they adapted, and then began to show schemes and clips off his state title team.
It made a huge impact because you watch those same uniforms doing things one weird way, then change to a good thing. Same coach, better scheme and coaching, better kids. But that definitely made an impact on me.

I guess my original point was not to bash on actual speakers at clinics but all the big word phrases and guys who use million dollar words to say something simple.
Coach- "We use a slam call and that alerts our te to use a tunnel slip and dip technique against a hot badger stunt off the edge. Then the fb uses a turnip technique against against the raccoon when he becomes the new emlos due to the slam call. Then our center makes a duce call to let the bsg know he has to use a wombat pull."
Me- "So you block the TE out and have the Fb kick the guy over the TE?"
Coach- "yes"
Thats what I am talking about when I say "clinic talk"

I just got back from a clinic. The very first session I walked into was a 3-3-5 session (I ended up in the wrong room) where the guy was talking about his "Ponies" and how they needed to play in a Max Dawg technique etc. etc.
I thought I was going to have to gouge my eyeballs out with my car keys.

Verbage does not get me because you can pickup on the stuff throw the overheads or whatever. things that get me are "feel free to contact me anytime" and you never get a response. Honestly do not give out your email if you are nto going to answer it. Now I know very has things to do and I have been spoiled to a degree by getting great responses from some coaches that have a ton better things to do then to listen to me.
the other thing is I want to see your system or whatever falling apart. I want to see the bad stuff to. That is important to me.
