I gotta tell you, I look at this the other way. This is somebody else's stuff and if they don't want it up that's their decision. You want people posting your stuff? You are probably the only "real" football coach in this thread. Aloha

The shoot is based on attacking leverages. Way back in the day they broke it down like that. Check the gamblers qb manual on footballxos.com under run and shoot. Coverages have become way more complex, they definitely don't do that anymore. Its all based on leverage and how keyed defenders respond. Palms, cover blue, banjo, and other coverages like that made that impossible and zone blitzes wouldn't be accounted for right. They did away with that system, the heavy motioning, and double slot in the early 90s and never went back. I've gotten the manual. Some time around the mid to late 90s I got my hands on anything I could on the shoot. I grew up a big fan of Faught's since he was right down the road. His goal line package was unbalanced wing-t 100/900. What I posted was from a guy who got it from Hawaii clinic tapes. Feel free to ask him for more details. I never took his information as "that's it" but more as a very brief general comment. I've heard how they would have a coach or trash can represent the key defender to get the reads. The whole group of shoot coaches in many ways are a little strange. They don't talk or share much and then depending on who it is they tend to claim to invented or been the first to do certain things. The slot-t is about the only other offense I know where guys are so tight lipped about things.

I am a little hesitant to blame big names. Tend to believe it is a little spit who loves the power having a rare item gives him. Somebody calling a persons place of employment reaks of little spit guy.

Tiger Ellison did that. I've never heard of June or Jenkins doing that, but to be fair, Jenks hasn't coached the shoot since the early 90s. Where did you read that? OMG JUST STOP! For the love of God you run and shoot fan boys quit associating me with this half ass offense! I NEVER EVER EVER EVER ONCE ran the run and shoot as a coordinator or head coach. Everyone say, RED GUN Jerry called it the red gun because red was the personnel color he identified 4 wr's (Saben still does this, he was a turd when he was with us) and gun because I loved the shotgun. I didn't run one play the way mouse did and didn't run half his plays. GIVE ME MY CREDIT! - The Red Gun is the most explosive offense in the history of the NFL in 1991! - I destroy Saben and Belicheck when they were together in 1993. - I invented the Fade Stop which is the most efficient route in football history. So stop mentioning me with run and shoot. Those 3 words haven't come out of my mouth since I left Detroit with mouse. I should have never kept Z-Go in my playbook. I completely changed the play but kept the name. I should have named it Z-BetterThenTheOldGo or Z-IHateRedGunDidntCatchOn Yeah so... red gun was a name created because Bud Adams hated the Gamblers and everything related but Glanville wanted it. Red gun was the compromise. June has always called his offense the run n shoot outside if his 2 years with the oilers when they only used run n shoot plays on passing downs and 2 minute drill. He has since worked with mouse in Detroit, Atlanta, and Hawaii. In all those places he called it the RnS. Jenkins is the only one who ever wanted to call his something else. @coachhuey or another moderator. This Junes ego guest login is probably the nut who called 33coach 's work. Can we block them please?

well so far, nothing. my company said "its not our problem until the cops show up". but the phone call was recorded, and if i can figure out who did this, believe me, my lawyer will be all over it. the funny thing is, June Jones and Jenkins arnt even coaches anymore. Did you really just admit that your company committed a crime by recording a conversation which is illegal in the state of California without both parties consent? My Shadow Agents have screen captured your confession. I wouldn't mind a few thousand dollars from your company since my ungrateful former QB stole my job from me for a slaves pay cut. They'll be calling me back next year after that mistake. mistype - reported** which should have been caught in context.

Bud Adems was our b!*** we did whatever we wanted and if I wanted to call it run and shoot I would have. BUT the fact is my offense was different, I expanded the playbook with my own philosophy and it deserved a different name. Sorry fan boy I'll give you 1 million dollars if you can find a cut up where I ran the "slide" in my offense from 87-14. I'll also give you another million if you can find an article where I called my offense run and shoot (on my own) past 1990! I got asked and labeled rns all the time but I just got tired of trying to correct anyone. I'm looking at my 1994 Falcons program and guess what is all over it? RED GUN RED GUN RED GUN RED FUN RED GUN. And please, I did whatever I wanted to with the oilers, watch the 88 game vs the Cowboys where we went red gun only and torched Landry and his crappy defense. Any more Internet folk tale you need straightened out on? Aloha

Second off) Thanks for reading me my own wiki pedia page Third off) God if I had a dime for everytime some coach came up to me and try to tell me a story they read about me on the Internet and tell it to me like it was a fact I'd have more money then I did at SMU Gundy voice: THAT AINT TRUE! He was a player coach under mouse in 1982 for the Argos. He then promptly went to Hawaii as an assistant coach. Hes from Portland he's not used to real winters.

The irony of it all, the guy who puts all of this stuff online was asked on twitter does he speak at clinics and his response was something along the lines of "our head coach doesn't allow us to do clinics for fear of our stuff getting out to local schools."

I dont know why there is such a fuss, The Run and Shoot playbook has been on EA sports Madden and NCAA for years.... LOL

The shoot on madden and NCAA is like if you took your kids cat, put it in a blender for 5 minutes then gave it back to your kid and said, "yup that's whiskers the cat. See there's a paw, there's a tail. There's some fur. Obviously that's your cat. "
Just because the have a play called slide doesn't mean its slide. They had someone a few years ago read over some playbooks and crappily put it together for NCAA so that SMU and Hawaii would have somewhat realistic playbooks. Since then they just have copied and pasted.
Some of it is kinda close. Some of it not at all. They have 4 versions of switch as seperate plays instead of switch having option routes. They have automotion for the slots but its the inside slot in trips instead of the middle slot. They don't include double slot formation, only doubles. No speed option in 4 wide. Read has a slot crossing route instead of an arrow. No jab step on go by inside slot. No blitz conversions for any option routes. On choice it only slants vs a 7-8 man cover 0 blitz. No stop fades on any go routes. Most options by any of the option routes is 3. And hslf roll out is ugly at best because computer forces a 3 step drop before qb can move laterally... yeah... that's just for starters... it does include Army concept... but only in pistol. Its really botched.
Sorry for the rant.
