Coach Timmy you stole my thunder1.
I am a proud POET!!!!. talk about a tough place to play college football.
Whittier College back in the day had some big time coaches who went on to great success. Don Coryell and George Allen both coached the Poets. And lets not forget our most famous Alumni, Richard Nixon.

The mascot for the school I coach at now is "The Phoenix". Probably wouldn't be too bad except it is singular and even worse we are in a suburb of Phoenix, AZ (don't know who thought of that).
Now the mascot I wanted (brand new school) when I arrived was the "Isotopes" (of Simpsons fame) as we have one of the nations largest nuclear power plants (Palo Verde) within viewing distance of the school. In fact the boys and girls basketball coaches and I are thinking of making TVHS Isotopes shirts to wear around school in protest.
GO 'TOPES!!!

Also from Texas - The Farwell Steers Gotta love being named after a castrated animal! Kansas Washburn University Ichabods Pitt State Gorillas Hesston Swathers Tribune Jackrabbits Fowler Goldbugs and Kensington Goldbugs Hill City Ringnecks Also great coincidence in Topeka where The Hayden Trojans face crosstown rival Topeka Seamen allows occasionally for the headline "Trojans stop Seamen".
