Just wondering who you were the most impressed with after hearing them speak?

Scott Smith from Independence H.S. Tenn is very good with shotgun spred stuff. I have seen him twice. Very entertaining and willing to help out.
Dave Brock Hofstra & Temple is also a good spread guy.

Eric Mengini, Head Coach, New York Jets... I learned more about Defensive Back play from him in one hour than in my previous 11 years of coaching.

George DeLeone, one of the best Oline coaches in my opinion. Very intense and passionate about coaching.

I'm an offensive guy, but I went to Pete Carrols Defensive Game Plan clinic and I learned a ton. I could really tell that Pete absolutly loves what he does. He just has a charisma about him, that must help him greatly in recruiting. I was ready to run through a wall for him.

Bob Devaney. He was absolutely hilarious, never talked a single X or O, but made you feel he was one of us (not a "big-timer") and feel good about being a football coach when he was done.
Being a Veer guy myself, Coach Yeoman was great every time I heard him because he would tell you anything and everything they were doing, and how, with such genuine sincerity and enthusiasm.
Holtz was good, too, because he would be so fired up. But after two or three times you'd get tired of hearing the same stories and catch phrases regardless of what his topic was.
Frankly, I've stopped spending $$ on a lot of the "big name" clinics because too many of the "big names" appear interested in only getting their fee and going somewhere else - they aren't prepared and don't really tell you anything.

Ron Prince, the new HC at K State former OC at UVA is great. He knows how to train the offensive line. Never got much X and O from him, but a wealth of conceptual stuff on how to teach and train the OL.

I can't really think of who the best is. But I always enjoy line coach's the most. I think the line coach's of the world are the world's most funniest people. I listened to Coach Mauck from the San Diego Chargers recently talk about pass protection. He said that most sacks come from the QB not delivering the ball on time. He says when he is approached byt the Head Coach telling him tio get his QB time he says "Bull*hit, get rid of the ball on time."

Coach Trickett from WVU. He is their offensive line/asst. head coach. This man not only knows x/o, he is very organized with his practice time. I got to watch several practices at WVU over the last couple of years and he gets in so many reps for the time alloted. Very impressive (and INTENSE) coach.

Eddie Robinson - he was kind enough to spend time with coaches after a clinic a few years back. A very nice gentleman.

I would have to agree with both coachjd and coachjimmer. Buck Nystrom stories are legendary. Demonstratin', cussin' and spit flyin'. The greatest story is once Buck was working so hard and talking so fast that his false teeth popped out of his mouth. He caught it in the air, popped it back in and never missed a beat. I'll never forget the first clinic I ever attended - The Coach of the Year Clinic at the old Leamington Hotel in Mpls in 1986. As a new 23 year old coach, the great Eddie Robinson took the time to stop and talk football with me. this was a moment and a lesson that I'll never forget. Coach Robinson taught me the importance of the camaraderie of the coaching fraternity and the importance of trying to give something back to the game.

For all the negative stuff about Gary Barnett lately he was a coach who really impressed me and when I later met him in the hall he took the time to stop and REALLY talk to me.
