I know he's not a football coach, but listening to John Wooden at the USA Coaches was awesome.
Sonny Lubick always has a good presentation mixed in with some real color.

I've been to a lot of clinics so this required some thought. So far: * Motivational/General- Woody Hayes * Offense- Dick Vermiel and Sid Gillman on the passing game Milt Tenopir and Frank Solich on Nebraska's running game Joe Bugel on OL play.

George Deleone was great might have been the first speaker I ever heard at a clinic. Gregg Perry OL coach at Delaware, Rick Darlington from Valdosta, Ga/Apopka Fl. was very good. Maybe the best was Jim Reed the former coach at Richmond on defending the Wing-T talk about a passionate speaker!! Bryan Schaumloffel www.bucksweep.com

Denny Creehan knows his stuff in the Wing-T.. We went to a big Wing-T camp a few years back and he came to speak at it.. He talked for around 4 hours it seemed.. It was great.. Mcnally is pretty awesome too.. As is Dave Christensen.. formerly of Toledo.. and Now at Mizzo..

The legendary JT Curtis out of John Curtis School in River Ridge, LA. I heard him speak at a clinic in LA several years ago. If anyone has ever seen them play, you know that they are one of the best coached teams around. And, after seeing him at the clinic, I understand why.

Bucky Nystrom- He beat the crap out of a coach who he was demonstrating on!! Funny and great! Woody Hayes- War stories galore. Tony Demao- "Put speed in space" & "make cover guys tackle and cover guys tackle". Can't remember the guy's name but he coached at Lakeland College in Wisconsin about 20 years ago. Unbelievable stories with a method to his madness! Once ran 36 QB sneaks in a row at D3 level against Eurika College.

Gordie Gillespie from St. Francis College outside of Chicago is one of the best speakers I've ever listened to. The winningest coach in collegiate baseball history. Is a hall of famer in the state of Illinois in football, baseball, and basketball. His speech on philosophy is outstanding.

Ron Brown (former Nebraska WR coach)- very, very passionate. also very, very thorough. I enjoyed his 2 presentations at the SD clinic this year. (Blocking in the WR World, and CATCH EVERYTHING) why Callahan got rid of him is beyond my comprehension, he took a lot of pride in what he coached!

Mark Speckman of Willamette U. in Oregon. A fine and funny speaker, an excellent football mind, and an inspiring personal story (Coach Speckman was born without hands, but has played and coached with great success...)

Bille Kenney (sp?) O-Line coach at Penn State...he's a sweater! Works hard when he speaks, delivers his message in a way that's fun and humble but gets a ton of stuff out.

I'll second Mark Speckman of Willamette University. He is flat out, the #1 authority on the Fly Sweep Offense - his clinic presentations are outstanding, but his motivational presentations are out ot this world. Our school flew him in to speak to our students and staff. Even the most cynical kids and staff were on their feet applauding at the end. Without a doubt, the best speaker you will ever hear.

For all you wing-t guys you need to see Tom Herman in action. Talk about intense and informative. Also becareful where you sit he does like to demonstrate. I have seen guys with him who are drenched by the time he is done using them to demonstrate.

Motivational- Dave Sollazzo (Maryland)
He is the Dline coach at the University of Maryland and he was actually featured on one of the Underarmor commercials. He is a very entertaining coach.
Sincerely, Coach D

I was able to go to the Tennessee Titans camp on June 15 and I spent the entire time with Dave McGinness, lb coach and former head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. This guy was fired up and very informative. Instead of telling us how he does everything for the NFL, he broke down how his drills, progressions, and everything else and how it could fit into high school, junior high, and even younger ages. He is a very intelligent and passionate coach, and I was blown away. Most of those clinics with the NFL teams are not very informative and usually some 3rd assistant is telling you how they do things, but Coach McGinness was right in the middle of everything, lining up coaches, and walking through everything. I thought it was great. Sorry for rambling on.

You guys not from Alabama may have never heard of him, but I like Jamie riggs, head coach at T.R. Miller, a 3A powerhouse in Brewton, AL.

I heard Buck Nystrom speak my second year out of college. He asked for a volunteer to demo some stuff. Like an idiot, I tried to volunteer but didn't get picked. Fortunate for me. He pretty much beat the hell out of the lucky guy who got picked. He had one of the funniest lines I've ever heard: (regarding training offensive lineman) "you gotta go out and make 'em 'cause Santa Claus ain't gonna s@ t 'em out of the sky!"
