Our Thursday is similar, but one thing we added many years ago was CRISIS CONTROL. We practice each week what to do in case a fight breaks out on the field (which is to IMMEDIATELY leave the field and form up around the head coach on the sideline)We started this after a game where the referees walked off the field in the 2nd quarter and ended the game because of a brawl where both benches emptied. It doesn't happen often, but when it has our kids know what to do, which is a good thing when the principal asks you ("What is your Action plan"?) It probably saved our jobs on two different occasions. We also practice "Don't Score." Here's our list: BALL ON TEAM N 40 KICK-OFF TEAM S 25 DEFENSE (3 PLAYS) S 25 PUNT RETURN TEAM N 40 OFFENSE (3 PLAYS) LET THEM SCORE S 3 P.A.T. TEAM HALFTIME - SWITCH ENDS N49 KICK-OFF RETURN TEAM N35 OFFENSE (3 PLAYS) N 35 PUNT TEAM S 40 DEFENSE (3 PLAYS) S 40 PUNT BLOCK (COVER) S 1 OFFENSE (1 PLAY) S 1 TIGHT PUNT FROM ENDZONE S 1 TIGHT PUNT - TAKE A SAFETY S 20 KICKOFF TEAM (WITH PUNTER AFTER SAFETY) END 3RD QUARTER-SWITCH ENDS N 30 KICKOFF RETURN - AFTER A SAFETY N 40 OFFENSE (1 PLAY) N 15 FIELD GOAL (NO HURRY) S 40 ONSIDE KICKOFF S25 DEFENSE (1 PLAY) S 20 FIELD GOAL BLOCK S 49 GOOD HANDS TEAM N20 FOUR MINUTE “O” N20 OFFENSE-DON’T SCORE N20 OFFENSE (1 PLAY) N15 FIELD GOAL - CLOCK RUNNING OUT S 30 OFFENSE - 1ST 10 PLAYS CRISIS CONTROL!!!
