I'm going with both Bud Light and Boulevard, along with about 4 plates of Rotel.

Going out on a limb Saints 31 Colts 17
In all seriousness, I am rooting for Aaron Rogers. The more I learn about him, the more I like him.

I am screwed if the Steelers win or loose....being in Western PA I will either hear how great they are for then next 100 years or how bad they got screwed for the next 100!
I will be interested to see how much the Packers line up a true NG, esp that Raji (sp) kid, over the Steelers back-up center. No feeling is worse in the world than watching another team find and then destroy your back-up center.

I try to remain neutral and I expect a close game.
I do think the Steelers have a small advantage in the name of Troy Polamalu.

Obviously not a prediction since it is the 4th quarter but two things about the super bowl. 1) I don't like the Steelers much and strongly dislike Big Ben but how about running the zone triple for the 2 point conversion. 2) Not football related at all but as a native rust belter, the Detroit commercial for Chrysler was pretty awesome.

Play of the game: Steeler running triple option for the 2 point conversion. Would have been better if Dixon was in to run it.

Play of the game: Steeler running triple option for the 2 point conversion. Yeah I give it another day before there is a thread in the General Offense about wanting info. on Pittsburgh Zone Triple Option. Kind of a dull game since my team didnt make it. Commercials were even worse.

Funniest thing about this thread is that if I had started it, it would have been pulled in less than an hour.

Aaron Rodgers played lights out...he's at an entirely different level than all the packers receivers.
How can you coach up your WRs to catch a QBs laser beam passes? These WRs are good football players with good hands, but Rodgers blazing arm strength seems to give them fits.
(yes trying to switch this thread to more of a learning opportunity)

food for thought from a coaching perspective, i suppose would be
* Packers had 19 players (did I hear that correct?) players on IR? Plus losing 2 key defensive players in one half of the game....and still come up with a way to win?
* 11 handoffs total in the game for the Packers and still won? Doesn't that break some oldschool football gods mojo or something?

I thought that handoff state was pretty interesting myself, seems to be a small trend the past few years with "passing" teams fairing pretty well.

The biggest thing I took from the packers running game though was that each hand off was effective. 52 yards does not seem like a great amount but Starks averaged 4.7 yards a carry. EAch time he touched the ball he gained yards, including some big first downs. They ran the ball enough to keep the steelers honest. They opened up some play action with the running game and moved the chains enough to keep it from being a one dimensional game.

The "you have to run the ball to win the game" statement hasn't been a fact for several years in the NFL now. I still think it holds a little more weight from college ball on down, though.

you have to run the ball (EFFECTIVELY) to win the game!
As someone stated above. That was CLASSIC WEST COAST OFFENSE!

The key to the game was the turnovers. You cannot turn the ball over at any level and expect to win, especially the Super Bowl against an excellent opponent. The Packers had a good game plan and were able to execute it. The Steelers had some success but shot themselves in the foot with the turnovers. Congratulations to the Packers! They deserved to win the game.

They were either good gains or they were crucial gains to extend the drive or pick up a first down. I recall a few 2nd and 1, 3rd and 2 instances.

None of those turnovers were gimme mistakes, they were all take aways, let's give the Green Bay defense the credit that is due. The forced fumble by CM was the turning point of the game!
