We are about to launch a new program at our school. We have booked time at an indoor turf facility with 3/4 size football field inside a dome. We have 1 hour for the next 10 weeks and will have players from Varsity level to freshmen. We have also invited our Grade 8 students form our feeder schools to participate. I have some ideas in mind, but would love your input on what you think we should really focus on in this 1 hour session.
I will include dynamic warm-up and some speed work, but after that the sky is the limit.

Individual position work, skell, and one on one. Script out EVERYTHING to maximize reps. Multiple huddles to increase tempo and reps for all.

LOL, book the facility then try to figure out what to do?
You had to have a reason for booking the facility- what was your intent?

Well, my intent was twofold: 1. Keep the lads focused throughout a long cold winter up here in the frozen north 2. Recruit from our feeder schools and get them ready for next year Further, I wanted to keep working our skill players through their position drills. I have a blueprint and really know the facility, just looking fro other ideas that might fit into our plans. There is lot's of expertise here! Why not tap into it?

Very true coach- but you only have an hour and by the time you warm up and do some speed work there's not going to be a ton of time remaining. And after getting skill kids through position work you are down to next to nothing. I just think it'll be difficult to get done what you planned in an hour much less add to it. But an hour a week indoors has got to be nice this time of year for you folks who live where it gets truly cold.

coach--i would echo what reaper said...I would try to avoid strengh and conditioning activities (I think you can capture some of this elsewhere...gym or something) I would work 5 min warm up, and around 15 min individual work, 20 min skell (OL/DL 1-1), 20 min one on one (20 OL-DL light thud through run game/run fits)...something like that.

One idea would be to split the days up with different focus areas. Do your speed work. Do some indie work. Then have some competition. Divide up the groups from the very beginning and incorporate a 10 week season. Maybe have each week with the theme of your opponent that corresponds to next season. One thing we used to do at the indoor facilities was 9 on 9 but 3 of them had to be OL and 1 had to be a RB. You could always adjust it however you wanted. But I think the key is competition that involves skills whether athletic skills or football specific skills.
