Here are some highlights of our sophomore QB in his first year ever playing QB and our junior WR in his first year ever playing WR. The WR was first team all state at 5'6 150lbs. The QB was all state honorable mention at 6'1 175.

Wow! Nice to have something like that coming back for one more year. QB has a real good arm and makes a nice play about 3:35 in. Haven't seen too many guys throw the ball that effortlessly.
My only question- WR doesn't look that fast, a lot of guys were able to catch him. How in the heck did he always get so wide open? There were times no one was within 30 yards of him. No knock on him, he is a fantastic athlete. Do you have a good run game that lets him break free on the playaction?

Is a low 23 guy in the 200m. In his defense. When he is caught from behind by the team in the black, that was the district 100m dash champion. He was a 10.4 100m guy. And I think he was only really caught from behind 1 other time and that was by the red and white team. I think he slows down a lot too to try to make cuts. He needs to just turn on the jets and run. The best part about that good play by the QB was that it was a freshmen making that catch on 3rd and very long in a 2nd round playoff game that we only won by a TD. It was huge for us.

Coach, very nice. Are you the QB coach? Have you worked a lot on the playaction stuff with him?
With a name like airraider, I assume you like the shotgun formation, but wow--- your QB (especially for so young) really sells your Play Action Passing game from under center!
Good stuff, thanks for the video. I wish our highlight reels were this exciting, but I guess that is the territory of being a power guy :-).

No, I just work with the running backs some. I just like to air the ball out. I guess my name suggests that I am from an Air Raid offense back ground, but not so.
Our HC is our QB coach and he does a good job of making him work on the fakes. Sometimes you can see good ones from the gun and sometimes he rushes it. He still has a lot to learn and will only get better.
He can stand on the 50 and throw the ball through the uprights. If he can learn a little body mechanics, he could really sling it.

We are at Minden High School in Minden Louisiana. We were playing Natchitoches Central at Northwestern State University. That was the QB's first ever real game as a QB and he threw for 236 yards and 4tds.
Well, we have several guys in the state who are rumored to be in the 4.3s, so by those terms he is not a burner. He isnt the fastest on the track either, but he runs a mean 3rd leg in the 4x100. He runs that curve very well.

I have some other great highlights I am working on. I promised some of you some highlights of our 3-way kick off return. You see a little bit of it in those highlights. I also have a great FS/RB/WR/PR/KR that I am going to show yall. He should be a big time recruit next season. His name is Codera Drew. Go to this link to see highlights from his sophomore year when he was a CB. He is a head knocker. video.google.com/videoplay?docid=450234683594232408&q=codera+drew&hl=en

Great work on the fakes and the QB has a lot of upside potential. Receiver looks like he has nice hands and great body control--routes, attacking the ball, and really wants to score when he gets the ball. I agree that he will need to learn at times to just try and put the jets on and split defenders and score, but he has time to learn as well.
Looks good. I only looked briefly so I didn't really identify concepts. What do you guys try to hang your hat on? Obviously lots of big plays off of play action and some of the basic gun stuff, anything interesting to share?
In any event, good stuff, and thanks for sharing.

We do a lot of basic stuff. Nothing too complicated or ground breaking. We run the smash, all streaks, shallow/dig, curl/flat type stuff. We did have a 1000 yard rusher mostly from the gun. We do run a good bit from the I, but we had several different TB's playing so none of them got significant yards. The FB in the I is our 1 back in the gun.
We run what we call Powerzone, which is just an outside run play from the gun with the backside guard pulling. We run trap, G, and Zone Cutback. We also run the counter and Zone boot off of these fakes. We run about 5 different screens. And thats really about it. Very basic.. but with really good athletes.
We finished 13-1 after losing in the state semi-finals. We lost to the state champs. We put up over 5000 yards of total offense. We have most of our best players coming back.

No, it should be I. I am the one putting together the highlights, so "I" will be showing them. "I" promised the people the highlights on the kick return, and "I" will be the one who is showing the great FS/RB/WR/PR/KR. "I" am sitting at the computer by myself so unless I am including a frog in my pocket, then there is no need to say "we".
And by the way, My frog and I hope you were not offended.

Thanks coach. Our HC and OC do a great job in game planning. There were some weeks our QB only threw for 130 yards and we ran for 4tds and others that we passed for 350 and 4tds. They took what was given to them.
