I've recently heard a lot about the warm up some of these air raid guys are using like Leach in Texas Tech, and Mumme. Not having a traditional warm-up but basically just running certain drills with the football that will warm the players up.
Does anyone know any of these sort of drills or techniques... or perhaps have another way of warming up that works really well for them.
My issue is that we only have an hour and a half of practice a week and we spend 30 minutes warming up every time.

I really think that is the way to go. The dynamic warmup is just to get the blood flowing....you can do that AND fundamental work everyday at the same time by going through high tempo position drills.

Get in Lines and do high knees, lunges, side lunges, kareoka, get offs. Go practice. 5 min tops.

Get in Lines and do high knees, lunges, side lunges, kareoka, get offs. Go practice. 5 min tops. It's what I've been doing for the past 3 years and it's worked great for preventing injuries. (Only injuries I've had are smashed fingers, shoulder stingers, throat shots, etc)

We do a combination of static stretching and dynamic warm-ups. Other than concussions, we've been very fortunate with injuries as well. We also do a ton of backwards running in the summer and warm-ups to work the opposite muscle groups and haven't had any hamstring problems as well.

I spend about five minutes, butt-tuck jumps, high knee skips, and a couple of 40 yd jogs. After that it's straight into it. No conditioning at end of practice also. Keep practice high pace and it's conditioning enough.

Dynamic is the only way to go from my experience. I was thinking 11 on air for the offense at 75% could be a good warm up. Run through some basic plays ect... Just a thought

The literature says that dynamic is the way to go. Static stretching is probably better for post-workout.

no stretching before practice?? Nope. Dynamic warm-ups to get the blood flowing, and stretching as part of warm-downs after practice. Stretching to warm up can actually reduce performance. www.pponline.co.uk/encyc/warm-up-exercises.html
