This should be interesting. How many reps do you give your core bread and butter plays each week on average? Ie, lets say your base play is the power, or the veer...how many reps? or maybe its zone read or whatever. how many reps for each of your top 5 plays?

Wow...never counted before.. I'll count them up this week and let you know. But I get about 2-3 reps in per minute, and we run each play about 10 minutes of practice, so that's 20 to 30 per practice per play (sometimes I double up the power play because it's that important.)
I don't get as many wedge reps in because I make them run down field in the wedge about 20-30 yards, takes longer to get them back and ready for another one.

Zone Read is our real bread and butter. Before we go to team period, the QB/RB get about 10 reps each direction on the timing, mesh and read. During inside period with the OL, probably another 5-8 each way, during team period, another 5 each way. So 3 days of about 40-45 per day.

One things I read by Bill walsh and Ive tried to do is this, figure out how many plays you can get in a practice, then take a look at your game and see what your percentage is you run certain plays, for example you run inside zone 25 percent of your plays...in your practice you should practice your inside zone about 25 percent of the time. I thought it was a pretty good idea to go off of, he said you would probably be just a bit less because you are always going to practice things that you dont use during a game so that will take up some time. Another point he had was, dont practice the double fake revers 15 plays in a week if you are only going to run it maybe one time.

I would say...my first strong offense...runs my 80/20 rule plays (the 20% of my playbook that makes up 80% of my game plan) probably 10 times a week. Wow, doesn't seem like much
