I am not real happy where I am at right now. I am getting some heat from home about staying where I am, yet I see this job really wearing on me and making life at home as miserable as it appears it will be at school. How often do you plan on moving in your football career to reach your goals? How do you deal with this at the house with your wife and kids?

very tough topic. I have been in your shoes. I have a wonderful wife and I guess I would consider her to be a great coaches wife. We have moved around a lot. It was tough on her, but it was not a big deal until we had kids. Then she really wanted to try and find a place where we could settle in. We have moved once since our oldest started school, it was an easy transitition because she was only in kindergarden. Now that they are both in the upper elem grades and I have had some possible opportunities to move on to bigger and better, my family has dropped the hammer on me and pleaded with me to stay where we are at.
My advice is to share your career goals with your wife and see if you are on the same page. Like I said, it is a tough decision to make, especially when kids are involved.
Good luck coach.

I have moved three times in twenty-three years. Life is to short to be unhappy but it has to be a joint decision. What is best for the family? I moved with young children so it was not that hard on them. I will not move once my children are in high school though. Remember, "the grass may look greener, but it just may be more fertilizer."

This is my 3rd job in 6 years. The first was a move from jr hi to frosh coach and a pay raise, second move was from frosh to varsity coach and a pay cut.
