Does anyone have a good playbook program they use? I currently use one called " Playbook Power" It is good, but it does lack some drawing capabilites. Are there any that have trials? B/c they are not cheap, and I would like to try it before I buy it

I have playmaker pro, that was passed down w/o any book or directional tool, and some data can't be saved, I have dabbled with it enough to see that it is a good investment, but I would also like to see a template for powerpoint if anyone is willing to send a package.

i would totally prefer something better than playmaker
it is hard to save play names without using heiroglyphics it is hard as hell to transfer it over to word

Tog- Am experimenting with Power point right now. ITs moderately easy once you get how to Copy and paste. I just make an O of the right size, an X, a Triangle, and some squares and then drag them into formation/defense etc...If you would like I can email you what I have so far. (Its a Flexbone Offense Playbook)

I like Excel... I think it has better drawing tools and is easier than PP, and you can get more notes on it. Once you setup your template, its really easy to use. If you want to make a PP presentation all you do is copy and paste your play diagram from Excel.

We've had Playmaker for several years and love it. I've never had a problem saving play names. I thought it was hard to transfer stuff from PM to Word but, from what I've seen, it's just a matter of opening PM, opening a Word doc, copying the stuff you want, then pasting it in Word.

phantom, you must have a more up to date version than I have, there is no simple copy and paste on ours, you have to select all and metaphile it, then insert picture on word
we could start an email chain where we add basic formations and basic fronts to each others powerpoints and then just keep adding them around and around until we all have every formation and front known to man
they just would need to not have any words on them, as we all use different lingo

I have done adefensive playbook on power point. It took a while the first time due to trial and error. Second time, it went quite a bit faster.

Coach I have Play Maker 4.0 and I'm able to copy and paste diagrams into word or powerpoint. If your is not doing that the you ned to upgrade. IMO PlayMaker is the best once you learn the in and outs of it.

hey guys.. sorry for not jumping back in here.. forgot that I posted on it.. here is why I like powerpoint..
I can save diagrams as pictures.. in jpg format which can be beneficial in a lot of ways..
I can flip a play around very easy for showing it right or left and all I have to do is rename it..
You can zoom in to like 400% to very finely draw lines.
You can do straight lines with a drag of the mouse, curved lines that bend on every click, or free form..
I can animate my plays..
I can take these animations and put them on dvd with add in voice for video playbooks or lectures..
I make a template of a formation and just copy and paste the slide several times for plays of that formation.. so I do not have to keep drawing the formations..
If any of you want some samples.. please email me at jtholder00@aol.com
Also, if you look under offense you will see a topic on combo routes out of trips.. i posted a diagram on there from powerpoint..

I can do this but I never get the entire picture transferring over. It works fine once in a Blue moon... but to do the play in PM.. and then save it as an EMF and get it into Word... no way... it always cuts off some of the play. I'm using the most up to date version of PM... Word XP and Win XP help?

I am very interested to learn how some of you guys have used power point and excell. My former head coach said all I needed was power point. I have been experimenting with it but have had little success. If you can help me out I would appreciate it. Using the programs that I already have would sure be more economical than buying one. Also I am interested in templates, or playbooks that I could use preferably complete with Hashes, numbers Etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you can get me started I would gladly send you a copy of my playbook when it is completed....Although that may take awhile...

We too have a early version of Play Maker pro, but the problem I have come across is not with tranfering from Play maker to Word, but importing Word into the Play Maker. Has anyone had this same problem? Coach L
