Does anyone use a shift where they start to motion one receiver and after that player crosses the ball other players shift?

Yes, I have used it. You just need to remind your QB not to panic and snap the ball before everyone has been set for AT LEAST 1 count.

Do you have a diagram or could you explain who you shift and motion.

If I am in a slot set:
X...............T...G...C...G...T...Y ........Z.................Q
...........................F ...........................H
I will bring my Z across in motion, and after he passes the Center, I will move my H out to replace him in the slot and give me my favorite 2x2 formation. By the time the Z gets out to the #'s, and my H gets to his spot, it should be at about the same time, and then my QB can snap the ball from there.
Another one, is where I will Shift the Backs from a pro-set, to an I-set while my TE is "flopping" the formation.
