He of the book "Season of Life". He was absolutely fantastic. Our county FCA hosted him and he talked at length about how they work "becoming and what it means to be a man" into to his high school program, Gillman.
If you ever get a chance to see him speak or have not read the book I highly recommend it.
He started out by saying that "coaches are the most important people in the country today". He then qualified this statement by saying that because of the emphasis of sports in this country we, as coaches, have the biggest influence over today's youth.
Think back to your playing days and see how many of you remember things your coach said, but not your parents, teachers or even clergy.
I walked out of their with a new sense of enthusiasm and felt great about being a coach.

www.charactercombine.com - Joe and Jeffrey Marx (season of life author) have spoken the last 3 years. I had a great, one on one, conversation with Joe. I was dealing with my dads cancer and spoke with him a lot. Jeffrey Marx actually emailed me directly and then I met him at the combine. Great men, great book. I read it every summer.

I'm supposed to listen to him speak tomorrow at our county presentations for teachers. I've already heard him twice. It's interesting that he changed his program from "Building Men for others" to "Building Men and Women for others". But I agree, the book is awesome!
