Do your schools have a LIVE period, full contact? At my current school we do not. Being a D-Line coach this makes it a little harder. But I can't argue with the 13-1 record. What do ya'll think?

If you mean live hitting and tackling to the ground, we do not. We were 10 - 2. We run linemen live and team sessions and thud the backs.

Every session of every practice that isn't the day prior to a game is live.
Every practice except Thursday when I played was live. 35-6 and I had a blast every day. =)

Depends on the day and the mood of the head coach. Usually it's live up front and "thud" everywhere else.

Live up front and thud on everyone else....except for our 10 min goaline period which we run once a week. It is the only time during the week where we are full contact and one's vs one's.........As a line coach it is my fav part of the week.

Line is usually live.
Live "situational" team period about 10 mins. per week.

being a passing team live means some thing different then a run team. we let our dbs beatup on our wr in practice. there is not such thing as pass int. at our practices. I have found this toughens up your wr very much. also in the pass protection game we let them go full speed.

it's kinda like gambling......
if you don't go live then you're accused of being soft.......if you do go live and get your stud running back hurt then you're an idiot.....
2 years ago rough weather didn't let us go outside much for 2 weeks......we basically got 2 "real" practices in during that 2 week period.....it was the best 2 games we played all year..... it was week 9 and week 10....so, we weren't adding anything new....but our kids had a chance to get their legs back under 'em........they played well....

bud wilkinson would cut practice buy 45 min after the halfway point of the sason. when the season got to the threequarters mark, he cut practice by another 15 min.
