He never said it was mandatory. He just expected them to do it. I expected kids to do it, was never mandatory.
But neither is ever seeing the field.

they wouldn't have to fire me. i'd just leave.
everywhere i've been, the athletic period is strength and conditioning, regardless of sport.
this is modified somewhat, of course, as in season sports go with the in season sport coach on game days and do whatever he has them do.
otherwise, s/c, and practice is after school.
