I quickly put a file transfer server(FTP) on on of my machines to try and kickstart the sharing of videos. This is not intended to replace the torrent idea. But it would be good to spread the video files to as many people(called torrent seeders) as possibly first. This has a max speed of 110kBps, so it's pretty fast (depending on how many are hitting it. You can just use your web browser and go to -- mav.homeftp.netWhne it asks you for a username fill in 'anonymous' and put your email address as the password. From there you'll see a couple of videos and my playbook directories. Feel free to download whatever you want. If you right click on a video, you can 'Copy to folder' on your machine. The files are a couple of hundred MB, so it'll take a bit to download. PM me if you're having any issues. I tried to make this as simple as possible, but with all of the different systems out there it can be a pain. Mav If anyone would like to put/upload and videos to this servers, just PM me. ***I'd really like to keep this to videos only. |

FYI - I see quite a few people came in and double clicked on a file, then closed teh browser (thinking they were hanging). If you double click, it brings up another web browser window that's blank(except the progress bar on the bottom right will move slowly). It looks like you're hanging(not doing anything) but you are downloading the file. It's better to right-click on the file and 'Copy to Folder', then it just looks like you're copying a file in windows (a small copy window). For those who would like to use an FTP Browser, instead of your web browser, here's a good one. It'll give you stats like progress (% done, speed, etc) www.savefile.com/files/2752441 |

MAV not quite sure...makes it easy for everyone to go to one spot...but how quickly an other coaches upload their own videos...Also what if you are just trading with a couple of coaches and not the whole community

Maybe we could use this server to initially seed a couple of us with the torrent video file. My connection uploads at about 100kBps and downloads at about 450kBps, so it's faster for someone to upload to this server(than download). If you want to check your own connection speed try www.testmy.net It's a pretty cool utility. It's techinaclly possible to private trading(passwords and private urls), but I'm just not sure of the logistics. We's have to work it out. |

No problem. Can folks PM me to let me know if their getting things okay? I can see the downloads, not I'm not sure the many are successful. The web servers stressed because I have the ftp running also. Has anyone been able to download from the web server?

A couple of folks are uplaoding videos to share. The new ones will be available soon. Access via ftp = mav.homeftp.netRemember to right click and 'Copy' for the large video files. Please let me know if there are issues. |

There's a new video available at mav.homeftp.net It's a coaches cut of Utah vs New Mexico. Again the quality is pretty bad - it's the way I got it. We're looking to get a couple of dvd quality videos uploaded soon. I have 3 more Utah games, but this will be the last one I'll post unless I get a PM looking for more. |

The ftp server is back up. A different machine on the same network was hacked into, so I thought it was wise to bring this server down to be sure it wasn't infected -- not looking to spread anything.
I've completlely scanned this machine with a couple of antivirus and anti spyware applications and get a clean bill of health. REMINDER - be sure to have both anti-virus and anti-spyware UP TO DATE and active. The first thing most spyware does is turn off 'automatic updates' and scheduled scans.
I see a few people are already downloading. Let me know if anyone has any problems getting in -- I've had to tighten up security soemwhat.

It's working for me. Great job!!! Coaches, I really enjoy the play cut ups. I hope it doesn't go down again. A couple of days ago ,I tried to access it, and it wouldn't let me in.
