The best coaches don't always win.

Some years, or in some situations - you have to coach your azz off just to keep from getting killed.

Doesn't mean those guys don't have good stuff to offer.

Mountjoy's record as a head HS coach was barely over .500, but he still contributed a lot of valuable things here, especially relative to his "Pro-Style Passing Game."

His problem was his ATTITUDE. He wanted us to believe he always won ("Virginia coaching legend"), that his way was the only way, and if you didn't do it that way you were somehow ignorant or downright stupid.

It was his lack of professionalism-civility that got him banned, not his Football or W-L record.

never heard of it.

i think the best coaching job i ever did in a season, we ended up 4-6.
did a few things that year that i was never really able to duplicate with another group of kids, with disguises and false looks, and people never really knew where we were coming from.
stunted a lot more that year than any other, but those kids were really good at it.

good kids. it was actually a fun year, and defensively, at least, a very satisfying one.
one game against a fierce rival, we stopped them 5 times inside the 20 (we turned the ball over a lot).
3 of those, they had a first down inside the 7-8 yard line, and ended up turning it over on downs outside the 20.

A quick review for the "newer" guys, because it has been a few years.

The A-11 was a gimmick that used the wording (At the time) of the scrimmage kick exception to field an offensive team with no one wearing ineligible lineman numbers. The idea was to move guys around-on/off the line, covered/uncovered- to confuse the defense and officials about who was an eligible receiver. 

The creator of the offense used to post here. Silky's "clinic" comment was an allusion to the fact that when a thread got uncomfortable for him he'd cut it off by saying that he had to rush to a clinic or a meeting.

Top response here!  Ha!  Yeah this board has been very good to me over the years.  I had an old account and joined somewhere around 2007 I think (my new account does not state that).  Had a major identity theft issue a few years back and had to shut down pretty much all online stuff, but I am back now and still getting great information from this board.  I would say the traffic has slowed compared to what it used to be, but in terms of messages boards, this thing is still top dawg.
