After 13 years of chomping away at this business, I have learned one thing: Family is very important Guys just a piece of advice Turn off the VCR Put the clip board down Put the cap on the grease pen Turn off the lights
And GO HOME
Your wives and children need you, take your kids fishing, play catch, go for a ride and listen and talk to them, take your wife to dinner and maybe a long weekend. Take some time to smell the roses (if you can find any)
Most of us have great support at home, but don't take it for granted, Andy Reid is not the first guy that I have seen this happen too. I will not mention any names, but this does not surprise me at all. Step back its just a game, when the lights are out and the teams have gone home, the one thing you will have is your family. Keep them

That reminds me of the time Vermeil was watching film with his assistants and commented on how tall one of his sons (who was on the sidelines) was getting.

I hadn't heard what happend with Andy Reid so I went to the eagles' web site and it had this posted:
"February 12, 2007
Eagles President Joe Banner has announced that head coach Andy Reid has taken a leave of absence from his duties as the team's head coach/executive vice president of football operations to attend to personal matters involving his family. Here is what the Eagles released in a brief statement:
"Philadelphia Eagles President Joe Banner today announced that Andy Reid will take a leave of absence from his duties as head coach/executive vice president of football operations in order to attend to personal matters involving his family. The leave of absence will last until approximately mid-March 2007. At that point, Reid will return to his regular duties with the Eagles."
Reid has been dealing with the recent legal troubles involving his sons, Garrett and Britt, and will miss the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis from February 22-28.
Free agency begins on March 2. The NFL draft is on April 28-29"
Does any body know any other specifics about what is going on?

Same thing happens to preacher's kids......let the passion of your life be your family---that is your first responsibility as a father and a husband. The little things (and yes, football is a little thing) take care of themselves if you take care of the big ones.

I hate to say this but this is where people in Europe have us beat. Family is very important to them. The French are big into family and they laugh at our running around trying to chase a dollar to get the bigger and better deal.
the biggest peace I had in my life is when I finally cutup my credit cards and paid them off. no more bill at the end of the month. I have really learned to live with less. I do have a debt card but that is tied to checking account.
one of the sadest stats I have ever heard, roughly 35% of the world lives on 20 dollars a day or less. I know people who spend that at starbucks. sort of sobered me up as to what is really important. is the stuff we by or the relationships we have.

From what I know.....one kid got pulled over with a weapon.........the other one got busted with Heroin. Same path as Ray Sherman's kid (?) a few years ago, and Dungy's two years ago.....

Family is important to some Europeans the way it is to some Americans. Plenty of people over here use the extra time they have on their hands thanks to greater government control of the economy to slack off, period. And the French will sneer at us no matter what we do, mainly because the last important French person on the world stage got his butt kicked at Waterloo. Or as Will Rogers once said, "The French couldn't hate us any more unless we helped 'em out in another war."

Hey Ted: How do you really feel about the French? I had trouble getting anyone past Louis Pasteur myself. Maybe the guy who started Dassault Airplanes (got the Germans to help) afterall the Israelis kicked butt in those planes. Greg
