Good evening coaches, This year, we wanted to take our varsity team (36 players plus 8 coaches) to a college campus for a 2 night, 3 day, team camp. Ultimately it did not work out cause we did not have enough money secured in time. Despite being a private school, we have to raise close to $80,000.00 a year to have a season because we are self-sustaining and rent our home stadium for JV/Varsity games. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone out there reading this has done this team camp at a college campus before? What were the pros/cons? Approximate costs? Our thought was to make this a part college advising trip where we toured the campus and 2 other nearby colleges, and maybe even involve some school advancement as we have a large alumni base on the west side of the state of Michigan. If you would be willing to share your schedule or any other notes regarding logistics, we would greatly appreciate it as we will be fundraising it into a part of our budget for next year. on a side note, we are currently utilizing a Michigan based company named TeamFi for our pre-season fundraiser in place of a lift-a-thon. It is the best decision we ever made!!! It will take care of all our bills for the rest of this year and leave us some start up money for 2025. We had to coach our kids up on how it works, but after that, we raised close to $20K in 3 days and currently sit at $34,150.00 with 7 days left on our campaign. We are a school of 320 in a middle class area with multiple high school. Check them out at www.teamfi.works/ . I don't work for them or anything, I am just very pleased with our experience with them.
