Has anyone have one of their players tel them that their doctor is refusing to perform a physical due to one already being done within the year? I’ve never heard of this.

Never heard of this. It must be an insurance thing.
There is a difference (at least in MN) between a yearly physical and a sports physical. Though you could have the sports physical done at teh time of the yearly check up.

We had that issue a few years ago. The kid ended up having to go to an urgent care facility that does sports physicals for $25.

Yes. It was due to insurance. He had to wait a few weeks. Didn't really matter though because Illinois is 13 months for a physical.

If he’s had one within the last year is he not good? Our state requires a physical every 13 months They are good. It expires in October. So now they miss practice or school to get their physical? Makes more sense to get it done during the summer when practices are mandatory. |

That I agree with. We have a free physical day in May. And I have kids each year say theirs is good until….. then they either have to miss school. Or say coach I can’t be at practice today bc I gotta go get my physical. Well dang. You had a chance to get one for free.

I’ve had a number of players over the years say that and it’s always been due to insurance, they won’t pay for it until the previous physical expires.
