Off the top of my head:
1. You, or an approved proxy, are the only ones who distribute anything
2. Number anything you distribute
3. Log everything you distribute
4. Conduct random helmet checks to make sure everyone has the helmet they were given
5. Have a system in place (cut-off time) for when equipment issues are taken care of (otherwise you’ll be late to practice everyday)
6. Take meaningful collateral for loaners
7. Don’t punish harshly for forgetting things (will lead to stealing equipment items from teammates rather than asking for loaner)
8. Collect all equipment the night of the last game
9. Order 10% of helmet inventory yearly (more if program is growing)
10. Send helmets to recon asap after season
11. Find a laundromat in town, give them a stadium banner/PA read in exchange for a discount on $/lb and pay him to clean your game uniforms
12. With support from the HC, decide what equipment policies he wants, and do not bend on them. Otherwise chaos/disorganization will ensue
