Morning. Headed to a new program. They use pixellot for their game film system.
Never used it. I've only used Hudl.Anyone have experience with it? Pros, cons, anything?
Does it allow you to run reports and other features like Hudl?

Hmm, the only Pixellot I've heard of are the automated cameras (motion sensored) that schools use to stream their games so that people can watch the game remotely (usually at a cost). From what I know, it's purely film. Unless there's a layer of Pixellot that I am unaware of, I hope they use another program (Hudl, Gamestrat, etc.) to break down film.

It is fine (and just that - fine/ok) for broadcast for Grandmom 10 states away to watch baby grandson play. A 14 year old with Hudl on his iphone standing on the top row of the stands on the 50 yard line will give you better game film after 2 minutes of training.

IRRC, they can send you clips after the game. But the quality is bad and sometimes those cameras are all over the place.

I agree with silkyice the pixellot can not be trusted for game film and will more than likely be zoomed to far out. The hudl camera is better, but I think nothing is better than having an actual filmer.

Pixellot is the camera that we installed during COVID for the games to be livestreamed. It is one solid shot. Not downloaded in clips. Their version of hudl, and hudl sideline is called vidswap. Its owned by pixellot. In the 2 years I had it, I was not very happy. Not very user friendly in my opinion. Very difficult to trade and upload to hudl if you need to (maybe not difficult, but time consuming). The sideline replay was not very good. It did not work an entire game a single time this year. Not one game. We have gotten rid of it.

Pixelot is slightly worse than Hudl focus. It is more the extra step needed to upload to Hudl. I hate getting film from either Hudl or Pixelot that has 30 to 40 minutes of clip filler. Take the time to delete the nonsense before, during and after the game. Some times I feel like I am the only person in our conference that does this.

I was under the impression that it will upload all of the clips automatically? Is there something I’m missing?

Yo can even film practice with it and it will be uploaded by the time you come in from practice. You can even film practice with it if you practice on the game field. The picture quality and AI is light years ahead of Pixellot.

One word of warning with Hudl. The game standard game time is 3 hours. So if the game starts at 7pm and game goes past 10 (storm delay, etc.), it will have stopped recording by 10. Make sure to adjust that.

We get way better film from our end zone and drone as far as definition quality. The other thing is on long plays it seems our focus camera can't keep up. Also the tight they offer is just a zoomed in poor quality of the wide. Not sure how that compares to Pixellot because we don't have it. We still have a filmer for all games for this reason.

We can barely get anyone to commit to filming a press box view let alone EZ. Drones are definitely out. I can usually get a kid to do away games because they want to be able to go on a trip. Home games they would rather hang with their friends. This is my biggest pro when considering Focus
