I know that a lot of coaching staffs have utilized online meetings since COVID to save time/travel and for overall convenience. Obviously, Zoom took off during the pandemic but there are other platforms to hold digital meetings. My district has gotten rid of the Zoom membership to cut costs and we are already a Google Suite school, so it makes sense to utilize Google Meet as we are already paying for it.
I'm wondering what the pros/cons are for each platform. Price? Features? Etc. The big question I am interested in is the quality of the game film. I know that when we were using Zoom for coach/player meetings that the video would be very choppy at times. Has anyone used Google Meet (or something else) to watch film with coaches/players and the film looked good?

They basically work the same, we use Google meet. Most kids have a gmail account. Difference is negligable. The film is choppy when streaming thru a TP source regardless in my opinion.

The new hudl does have a chat feature but you have to be on the same play as the other person to see their comments. In real time it is kind of annoying if I am on play 58 and making comments and other people are on a different play so they don't see my comments until they go back to play 58.

Unless you are paying for Zoom they have a 45 min max meeting time. Then you have to start the meeting again. Not a big deal if it's a couple people involved. Google Meet is free and it seems to me most schools are using Google.

Google Meet for the win. It's free and works well with calendar invites etc. I also connected it to Noty.AI to take notes for me.
As noted above, Zoom costs money, unless you keep all meetings under 45 min

Unless you are paying for Zoom they have a 45 min max meeting time. Google Meet has a 1 hour limit if more than 2 are connected. But there's a loophole: If the original organizer signs off and then gets back in, no more time limit regardless of how many are connected. Frames are more or less missing when someone receives a video stream and shares it in the meeting.

I’ve never hit a Google Meet time limit but that might be due to it being linked to a school. I’ve found Google Meets doesn’t lag as much as Zoom for me. Now some Google Meets get a little screwy depending on the email address used to join the meet.
