What % of your offensive snaps are from the gun.
We are about 90% out of the gun.
Not sure if that is good so I'm looking for some information before we consider a change.

if you're a gun team, why not run 90% or 95% from the gun. the only reason not to would be when you wanted to have the threat of a QB sneak on short yardage.

About half the teams we play use the gun at least some.

We played a team in the playoffs who had someone under center against their defense NOT ONCE in 10 games. We run the Navy stuff and they struggled greatly to slow us down because their kids were not used to being attacked with that type of running offense.

we are in gun when we are in our 4-wide, 3-wide/1 TE, and 3-wide/2 RB packages
we are under center from our traditional Pro-I, Ace, & "Flanker" packages

We were in the gun 100% last year. Except QB sneak. (And still no one stopped it. )

gamedog you never told me you ran the navy stuff Tog you never asked. We were split back veer the past few years but haven't had a TE the last two years. We changed to the Navy stuff week three this year. It allowed us to get another speed guy in at the slot and we didn't need a TE. If we wanted to go to a pro look we just moved the FB to TE. The way we switched would floor you. I would have to tell you in person because it's a long and hilarious story. |
