We're going to run out of cool names for people's offenses. We might need a committee to sort things out and assign names.
But seriously, looking at clinic lineups and the number of coaches who have named their offense something is silly to me, and I've now sprained an eye from rolling it too hard.
The defenses are not far behind, btw...

Is "Face Melter" or something similar on any of those clinic lineups? They're definitely all something similar to that. Maybe I'll use that instead if I ever get asked to speak. "Run the Face Melter: Scoring 100+ points per game with one easy system" |

Is The Annexation of Puerto Rico still available? There was one single play, not an entire offense. Also, I don’t think people talk enough about the Cowboys running a perfectly executed inside veer out of the I in that game. |

The Cowboys crowding the line of scrimmage with 4 seconds to go in the game and the offense having 99 yards to go has got to go down as one of the worst coaching blunders of all time though. |

My God it's been a while since we've had one of those threads... if we can get DCOhio back on here I'll stroke-out.
The offense I run is the, "try to have the best player on my team touch the ball A LOT" offense. Works when we have good players.
Defensively I'm a fan of the, "get my best player unblocked to the ball and everyone else leverage the ball" defense too.

What is the defensive answer to the Face Melter offense? At D-III college I coached defensive kids called their unit "Sick Dog Defense." Had T-shirts in school color with illustration of retching dog in helmet and jersey. Didn't go quite that far. When I became HC called ours "Mad Dog Defense" (school's nickname was "Bulldogs"). |
