Looking for some team building/bonding activities to include with our program for the off-season and next season. Trying to find things that are both cost-effective and time sensitive (no overnights). Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

We used to do a full day working for habitat for humanity, I loved it for a variety of reasons. I believe our only cost was providing lunch for the kids. You can do it in your own community (aka "build the brand" to some degree). It's active - not necessarily a workout but it's better than watching a movie or something - and in some instances the kids can learn some basic power tool skills and stuff too. It is a great opportunity for kids to develop leadership skills amongst themselves...we'd group them somewhat strategically but they also would naturally find roles to fill in a group. A few other cheap/inexpensive options off the top of my head... - Team cookout (or my personal favorite, OL cookout during 7 on 7)
- "Coaching" the youth or middle school camp
- Attending other sporting events or band events as a team (usually can talk the AD into not charging admission for home games)
- Player-led workouts in the spring
- If you have a beach nearby, doing a "beach workout" can be fun for the kids too, just gotta get them there and back and maybe provide lunch
