We have run into the problem of Hudl storage this season. If I add another team for our JV team or our JH teams how will this affect storage and how much would it be to add a team. Thanks in advance for your help!

I believe you can have up to 4 teams on one plan- however, that won't help your storage.
We used to have 3 teams- we cut it down to one because we were having storage issues and I would forget we had some hours in "JV" or "Clinic video"... so I just took those out and put everything in our varsity folder.
You can purchase more storage by upgrading. I don't remember how much that is ($400?), but it's less than purchasing another team.
If you have a Hudl focus camera- all games filmed on Hudl focus (home or away) don't count against storage. I don't know how much it is for focus- our school wanted it for live stream purposes so they got it. It isn't cheap... but the video was much better than the NFHS network video was for us.

The Hudl storage scam is something else. With so many teams moving to "HUDL" cameras, game/scout film is twice as long now time wise. It is probably even worse with basketball as every game film is two hours now when they used to be 45 minutes.
To answer the question we delete every scout film and all game film older than two years to stay under storage limit of 100 hours combined for our 3 teams. All game videos are saved to a hard drive after removed from Hudl.

We have a Google Drive folder shared with all coaches that we download older films to to save space on HUDL. Might be something to look into especially if you are at a Google school already.

Are you guys downloading them as clips or one file?
I normally download all of ours at the end of the season, but starting last year when I chose the “one file” option to download a plays list it would freeze about half way through the game.
When I asked Hudl about it last year they told me they were aware of the issue but it doesn’t seem to have been resolved.

I download as clips. Makes it easier if I ever need to upload to Hudl again.

I download film and put it on Google Drive. I know some programs that put their older games onto YouTube so players that have graduated can still watch. Most programs I've talked to will delete scout film as soon as they are done with those teams. 9th grade and JV film also gets deleted at the end of each season that I've seen.
I always download them as clips. It's easier to watch one it's on Drive if they're individual clips.
Years ago you could upload under Game Footage and it wouldn't count against storage, but they changed that a few years ago or whenever it was.

Both. Occasionally we re-upload an old game if we are looking something very specific. We will also occasionally upload some of the more entertaining old games up on youtube.

We delete most old scout film. If we need to keep scout film for future reference we put it on mass storage drive. For old game film, we created a you tube channel. We don’t upload recent film, like within two years. That frees up space and gives old players opportunity to watch old games.
