Team coming to us in the first round has a 3 hour bus ride.
What is the longest in your area?

We had to travel three hours once. We won. Had we lost that would have felt like a 6-hour ride.

Ouch. I hope you won. There wasn't any place you could have met half way? That happens occasionally here in Michigan when teams from Upper and Lower Peninsulas have to play.

We were 8-1 in the regular season, but ended up the #3 seed due to a 3 way tie for first. We cross-bracketed (East 1 vs West 4, etc.). We wore white all through the state championship game... which we also won.

3 hour 1 way bus ride to get running clocked in the semis in 2004 is the longest I can remember.
Our run was completely unexpected as we finished the year 7-2 and in 3rd in our conference so after a while the ride home was enjoyable as we all realized how well we'd done to get that far. Oddly enough, the 6-3 4th place team in the conference also made the semis on the other side of the bracket. It was a really strong conference back then.

blb I should add that we don't really meet at a neutral location here in ND... unless someone's field has been destroyed... which seems to happen often by October- especially when we get an early snow.
A few games in the quarterfinal and semifinal round were moved this year due to the host team having a bad field, but that's about the only time something like that will happen.

Not us but a team in our conference will be taking a 5-6 hour trip this friday to play, and another will be hosting a team making basically the same trip in the opposite direction.

Back in 1985 my HS team..I was an 8th grader that got to be a manager for the play-offs- Round 1 256 miles 4 hours+ Round 2 258 miles 3 hours 50 min. Round 3 321 miles 4 hours 50 min. State Championship- 135 miles- Lost temps were in the single digits, I burned my hands when I spilled hot chocolate on myself at halftime and didn't know it until an hour after the game. Fun year.

After a quick glance through this year's brackets...Benzie Central to Menominee, 6 hours around Lake Michigan...have to wonder if it would be faster to take the ferry?! There were a couple other 3.5-4 hour drives between UP and LP teams too

Man I thought we had it bad. We’re sitting at 3 hours this week, almost matching my previous longest at 3:15.
