I would love to hear how west coast-style offense high school teams structure their practices. I don't feel we are getting enough quality practice time because our game performance isn't as good as it can be. We have a handfull that go both ways so we can't just practice them on one side of the ball all practice. We feel we aren't putting too much on our kids to learn (6 quick passes, 6 5 step passes and 6 running plays). I would appreciate anybody that would share their thoughts or even send a blank practice schedule. I am willing to "think out of the box". Thanks in advance.

We are spread, but not WCO. We run our practices how, I supposed, most teams run their practices. Prepractice for skills that are not kickers or returners is pat & go and settle & noose, Dynamic stretch, Individual Drills, Inside Drill, Pass Skeleton, and Team (situations). Sometimes with bags, sometimes fit and drive, sometimes live to the ball, sometimes full live, in any and all of the above. Special teams and conditioning mixed in.

Currently our practice consists of stretch - special teams - def ind 2 or 3 pds. Middle / outside and team. Then off ind 2-3 pds middle / outside and Team. This is a 2 1/2 hr practice plus we have conditioning and lifting.

team dynamic stretch and form run conditioning offensive individual period inside run (1/half rb + ol) / perimeter run (1/2 rb + wr) blitz p/u (ol + 1/2 rb) / pass skelly (wr + qb + 1/2 rb) special team period team offense

lionhart, what do you mean 1/2 rb I'm guessing he means "one or two running backs," since the alternative is too awful to contemplate...

hahahahaha!!! hilarious ted! sorry, what i meant was that HALF (1/2) the rbs were with that drill, the other half were with the other. (i will switch them halfway through the period so they get work at both. (i also do this with qbs... they work half the period with inside run and the other half with pwerimeter run)

dynamic stretching = stretching the muscles through slow, controlled movements. (forward + side lunges, etc).......... as opposed to the old-school "static" stretching = reach down and touch your toes, etc.
